While it does have some interesting data about quinoa, and even some recipes I might be tempted to try, this self-published cookery book is atrociously written by someone who may know a lot about quinoa, but nothing at all about grammar, sentence construction or how to write engagingly. A lot might have been lost in translation, but this amateur author really needed an editor. For this reason, it was very difficult to persevere with this book.

It drove me nuts with the poor attention to detail and the fact that many recipes mention ingredients in the preparation section which the author forgot to mention in the actual ingredients list. Yes, I love cooking, I own countless cookery books and I cannot easily tolerate mediocrity in this genre. I’m fussy like that, but if I’m going to spend a lot of money in ingredients, and a lot of my time in trying a recipe, I need to trust the author, and very soon after starting to read I decided I did not trust this author.

Besides all above, the book tries to convince you to eat quinoa for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, which may be enough to put you off for good. The recipes, while trying to pass for “healthy” are loaded with fats and sugar. And, oh, I nearly forget: a cookery book with no pictures has never managed to entice me.

In a nutshell, I would say: don’t bother!
