I found this helpful. The problem with addiction is you know you have a problem and you know how to stop it— it’s the will power and action that need to be implemented. I wish it was as easy as saying STOP and putting my hands down. The reality is, it’s just not. I’ve tried a lot of things and I have a lot of work to do to find something that works. I am glad I read it. I learned more about the disorder and just wish I wasn’t a part of the 2-5% who do it. There is hope after reading this book, it is possible to stop.

How to Stop Pulling Out Your Hair (Trich Stop System)

This book will be of great help to anyone who suffers from Trichotillomania or for a parent who has a child with this the condition. It’s an uncontrollable behavior where a person pulls out their hair, including the hair on their head, body hair, their eyebrows and eyelashes.

This is a revised version with over a hundred more pages and is packed with good ideas.

The author starts out by telling her own story from when she was a child and pulled out her eyelashes. When she was in her twenties, the condition got worse. By then she was pulling out her eyebrows as well and was embarrassed by how she looked. She tried to tell herself to stop, but couldn’t quit this obsessive-compulsive
behavior. Finally, a doctor told her what her condition was and she began her healing journey.

This book was written for people with this condition so they can help themselves heal. I found her ideas very good like trying visualization, homeopathy, yoga, meditation and exercise. She also recommends eating healthy and staying away from sugar and chemicals. In some cases therapy might be needed.

Other ideas include choosing happiness, acting now, and a look at spirituality. She suggests keeping a journal and even has journal pages that can be written on if you buy the paperback version.

The first part of the book is for people who have the condition and includes a list of other books to read on the condition. The last part is for people who have a loved one who has the condition.

The book is an excellent resource with lots of ideas. If you have this condition, or know of someone who does, check out this book.

There are many disorders out there and people have many different ways of dealing with them. Stress is one of the most common emotional issues in which everyone can relate too as we all go through it sometime or other. People have different ways in coping, and pulling hair is not as uncommon as you may think, some people do this without even realizing it, and it seems to calm and soothe them in stressful situations through environmental strain.This book is a useful guide for Trichotillomania (hair pulling) disorder. The author does a good job explaining what triggers this anxiety, therapy, medication, behavior, and overall, helping to combat and reach a treatment that is 'on the road to recovery'. I'm not saying it will be easy, it will be a slow process, but in saying that, this book, in my opinion is definitely a useful guide and worth adding to your Kindle library for reference to read and re read when necessary.
