Isabel's Song

Rate this book
Eighteen-year-old Isabel Stauffer is testing all the boundaries of rumspringa when she is kidnapped by vindictive Judas Crow. Ripped from home, her community, and her beloved, Zack Kanager, she ultimately escapes and must find a way to survive in a world foreign to her. As she makes her way home, her faith in God is put to the test. Can she stay free of Judas who is hot on her trail? Will her faith remain strong as she finds that God works in mysterious ways? And will Zack be waiting for her, or is it too late for the two of them? Zack Kanager is whisked away from Honey Creek by a gang of thieves he thought were his friends. He doesn't have a chance to tell his intended goodbye. His only wish is to be back by Isabel's side. But things go from bad to worse and he finds himself accused of murder. Will the truth set him free or will justice be denied? As Zack turns to God to give him strength in his darkest hour, he wonders if he'll ever make it home. And if he does, will Isabel still want him?

Kidnapped during rumspringa by evil Judas Crow, Isabel has to be courageous and smart to survive. Her love, Zack, tries to find her, but gets caught up and falsely accused, of not just a crime, but murder. Will he ever find Isabel? Will she fall for someone else as they keep missing each other? Will he? Will she ever get home? Will she hold onto her faith? The setting and premise of Isabel's Song is very different from The Winds of Grace, but this book is equally riveting and will have the reader turning the pages to find out what happens. Marilyn King has done it again, and I'm looking forward to Book 2 of this series.
