Enjoy a low-angst, short, spicy, romantic romp through the week leading up to Halloween night in Salem. Will Alison, a skeptic, and Charlie, a man who never met a scare he didn’t like, discover magic together at Two Crows Corner?
The city of Salem holds a special place. A very large, centuries-old house on a quiet street. It rests on a corner lot with tall trees, surrounded by a rusted iron fence.
The Victorian-era greenhouse lies in shambles. A relic of extravagant days long past. Yet all the buildings seem enchanted. Magical, in fact. Or is it the landlady, Mrs. Banderash, who is magic?
But the most extraordinary thing about Two Crows Corner is what happens to those who find their way there. Even the most lost—those convinced they’ll never find happily-ever-after—just might. Read on and you shall see.

Halloween is my favourite time of year. Spooky season is my everyday! I live in Australia and still celebrate it here but it’s in my spirit everyday. I saw this book and had to read it because the thought of a cosy romance based around my favourite holiday was too good to be true. This book was so adorable with the story just being so easy and delightful from the beginning. The mystery kept me going and the sound of the house was just perfect. I want to grow old in a house just like it. This certainly makes me want to visit Salem even more especially during Halloween. The atmosphere sounded Devine. Overall this was a cute and cosy story that I read in an afternoon and I loved how this couple just got on with things and didn’t constantly second guess themselves or each other and the communicated properly so there was no confusion about how each other felt. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book, it’s starting of my spooky season reading list with a giant smile on my face 🎃
This was a quick entertaining Halloween read. It was a romance with atmospheric autumn scenery and spooky Halloween elements. Ali moved to Salem for a year to work, and moved into a spooky old Victorian house owned by a very old woman with witchy mannerisms. Charlie, a gorgeous horror writer lived there also and promised to make Ali fall in love with Halloween and Salem. There is a witchy apothecary in the house’s kitchen, a haunted attic, and a mischievous black cat that appears out of nowhere. This was a very cute spooky season lighthearted read, and I thoroughly enjoyed every page!
Allison isn’t a big Halloween person but when handsome Charlie shows her what she’s been missing, she’s one smitten kitten. The Magic of Two Crows Corner is a Halloween romance that’ll have you under its spell. It’s like visiting Salem, Massachusetts during the week of Halloween without taking the trip. Kathryn Hills takes you on an epic tour of what makes Salem come alive plus delivers a low angst romance that will melt your heart. The narration is detailed while imbuing the right spooky ambiance. The characters are easy to relate to and connect with. The city of Salem is a character all its own in this tale. I couldn’t put The Magic of Two Crows Corner down and neither will you.
I’ve never been to Salem, yet I’ve read countless books describing it. Nothing holds a candle to the way Salem is described in The Magic of Two Crows Corner. Kathryn Hills makes the city of Salem come alive. It’s amazing to read all the activities and people during the week of Halloween. Salem has a heartbeat all its own and Kathryn Hills does a magnificent job writing it.
The romance is low angst but full of emotion. I’ve always been a fan of low angst romance. Romance, including this one, is about tension and emotion. Kathryn Hills writes romance where the reader falls in love right with the characters. It feels natural and very satisfying. Plus, she throws in a bit of spookiness. This Halloween romance ticks all the boxes.
If you’re looking for a romance that’ll melt your heart, pick up The Magic of Two Crows Corner. It’s a treat for all romance readers.
Alison Huff was NOT a Halloween enthusiast, not even a little bit. But, she gets thrust head first into all things Halloween when she has to relocate to the historic city of Salem, Massachusetts for her job...in October! The one place on the map that's the epicenter of all things Halloween.
Charlie Storm is an author that adores Halloween. He also happens to be Alison's new neighbor. He makes it his personal mission to change her mind about his favorite holiday one fall-filled bucket list item at a time.
I really enjoyed this quick Halloween romance story! At approximately 80 pages, I devoured it in no time making it a perfect start to my fall reading list. The characters are well written, fun & relatable. I loved watching them banter back & forth as well as watching them really let themselves fall for each other without questioning everything about it. Do things happen serendipitously or is there really something magical or haunting in this little historic witch town?
This was a new to me author & I will definitely be skimming her backlists for more!
CW: Mild spicy open door scenes at the end, mild language

The Magic of Two Crows Corner is a short Halloween romance, a quick read at just 81 pages. Set in the days leading up to Halloween, the novella follows Ali, a woman in her 30s who moves from California to Salem for work. Initially indifferent to Halloween, Ali slowly starts embracing the holiday spirit after meeting her charming neighbor. The story lacks much action and it's slow burn but builds up to a heartwarming connection. If you're looking for a light, festive read with a sprinkle of Halloween magic, this is a good choice!
The Magic of Two Crows Corner is a short, fun, and spicy opposites-attract, Halloween rom com. Alison does not care for Halloween, but when she ends up moving to Salem, MA, in October for her job, her hunky neighbor, Charlie, is determined to show her how great the holiday is. This couple cracked me up with their snarky banter. They also had great chemistry. This was such a fun, light-hearted read with lots of laughs and some steam. It was low angst and ended on a happy note.
