Nine Lives

In Nine Lives, authors April Kautzman and Tom Gumbert explore the historical application of tolerance and intolerance through the ages from ancient Egypt to a new beginning for mankind as witnessed by a cat through nine unforgettable lives. As our narrator takes us through this remarkable journey, it reminds us...

"Chief Dan George, a very use man, once said, 'If you talk to the animals, they will talk with you and you will know each other. If you do not talk to them, you will not know them, and what you do not know, you will fear. What one fears, one destroys.'

Talk with me so that I may share my journey with you and we may know one another.

Walk with me..."

We all think of cats as having nine lives, authors Tom Gumbert and April Kautzman take that to a whole new level. What if each of the nine lives is lived individually throughout the millennia? What social and historical milestones are seen, what knowledge is gleaned from living through these events?
It's a rather short read, and I hadn't expected such a full book to come out of it. The author's have a way of making you truly feel for the characters. Some lives left me happy, some in tears. All in all, it's a very good story and leaves me hopeful for a next book from these two and their unique perspective.

Visit the many lives of one cat through it's lives on earth. Some happy moments some sad moments but finely put together in this tale which is good for children or adults.
