The wolf who rejected my plus-size curves is my new arranged mate. It took all of me to recover from the pain he caused me by breaking me. I managed to move on, until the Alphas tell me that I have to participate in the mating ritual. That’s when I find out that I’m supposed to mate with the wolf who betrayed my heart…
Fate must hate me…but no matter how I want to, I can’t back out of this. I gave my word and must do my duty…but I’ll do it on my terms. I vow that this marriage is out of obligation only, that I won’t submit to him. I vow that I won’t give in to him and that I will shut him out no matter what.
Yet my body hasn’t received the message that I’m supposed to protect myself from him. My soft curves willingly mold to his demanding touch, begging for more. My weak flesh obligingly lies there for him, vulnerable and open for him to do as he pleases. I’m trapped in his house, the memories of betrayal haunting me until I cave. Can I keep the promise I made?
Or will I let the mate who rejected me claim me for good?
The Silver Meadows Wolves don’t make compromises. They barge in, take their mates, and knock them up before anyone can stop them. Because wolves listen only to their most primal urges…which is to claim what’s theirs alone.
Ruby lives on a farm with her two daughters and husband. Besides horses, chickens, and a donkey, she sometimes imagines that there are other types of animals on her farm, too... Animals that turn into Very Hot Men at night to look for their mates... Whenever that happens, she turns to her computer and writes down the paranormal love stories of these rough Wolf, Bear, and Dragon shifters who will destroy any obstacle to protect their mate. Come and enjoy the steamy, suspenseful, and slightly sweaty adventures of Ruby's shifter romance world.
I could not finish this book. I did try, but it was so childish. All the characters acted like they were 12. When I read the MMC, he was so whiney and had the emotional understanding of a 10-year-old. The FMC was not any better, and she kept emotionally flying off the handle while she kept seasawing on if she wanted the MMC or not. The dialog was written as if the writer was still in middle school. The whole thing is terrible, and I could not get into it at all.
I am also tired of reading shifter books that are not adding in the shifting culture that involves more than to move the plot. Shifters are a whole different group and not humans, which means that if the writer changes the well-known lore, then they need to explain why; the characters should act like werewolves. These wolves did not. Where was the mate bond? How can they do arranged marriages in a shifter culture? Where was the well-defined structure of the pack. Where were the high-end senses? Where was a moon goddess? Where were the shifters in a shifter story; just writing the characters are shifters then having thr change into an animal every now again or as the reason to fight in a war for plot reasons in not enough.
I read book 2 and it was slightly better than this
The editing in this book leaves a lot to be desired. First is that the font style chamges from regular to italics. I thought i was reading a flashback until i realized the italics continued for many chapters. It threw me off.
Also, the universe has a weird version of mating that deviates from the unspoken standard in shifter stories. It has arranged marriages which goes against what the usual fated mates trope.
Plus I agree with one of the reviewers in book 2 (i think) that the plot is good but the world building is lacking.
Once again, a man does what he thinks is best for his lady and gets it wrong! Kyle had a troubled past and feels he must prove himself of benefit to his pack, this results in him dumping his mate while he is away on a mission. Leslie is distraught when Kyle dumps her and this increases her feelings of being inadequate and feeds her negative view on her plus-size. This is a wonderful story: there is an evil hunting them, misunderstandings aplenty, and plenty of romance. I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC copy of the book.
To me this was a very emotional story. I had a lot of empathy for Leslie in the beginning of the story. But as I read the book and learned more about Kyle I had just as much empathy for him. You get the feel of them coming to terms with who they are and who they wanted to be. The journey to their HEA was hard won. I liked the support from their friends. The flow was good, action packed, loved the twists and challenges. Well written. It made me feel happy at the end of the story. I received a free copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kyle has had a rough life and now he can do something good for the pack, the only problem is that he has to let Leslie go. Leslie has an inferiority complex and when Kyle dumps her and disappears she gets depressed. Little does she know that he has a dangerous job to do and trouble seems to follow him. When they are picked to be mates he is happy but she is not. It was interesting to see how they would work it out. The ending was intense. I received an arc and the views and opinions are my own.
⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️.75 I really wish the story had more world building and depth. I also wanted Kyle to grovel more to win Leslie back. I also do not like Bailey’s character in this story at all. He doesn’t show good leadership. Finally the story has great potential and I can really see the author progressing further in the future. 💖
Number of times the phrase “huge breasts” or a variation of it is used in this book: 7. Number of times I giggled at the mention of the FMC’s “huge breasts”: 7. I’m not sure what kind of dirty talk this author thinks is sexy, but if someone talked about my huge breasts, I would not be inclined to spend naked time with them.
Ruby Knoxx dad a good job with with book 3 of this series. There was suspense and rogue wolves who thought they should have things that didn't belong to them. Kind again they were wrong. This series is worth getting and reaching.
This book is about the heart ache that comes when your loved turns his back and walks away... The tears that are heart brake falls.... Will the man ever gain her trust back in the end?
Liked this book. It tried to give the FMC a little Dom but fell a little short. Could have gone further and I would have loved that. Both MC were lost and hurt but managed to find love to make them whole
