Not gonna lie, I was pretty lost a lot of the time, but that was mainly my fault because I read the 6th book in the series first sooo…. But they would say stuff like "he didn’t finish his sentence, but we all knew what he was gonna say…" and I’m sitting there like I DON’T KNOW!? I liked how there was a summary of the previous book as well as a character list, but I felt like it would’ve really added more if there was short recaps of what was going on during the book, not only for me as a new reader, but also for readers who are following the series, though with time I did start to understand it more and honestly it makes me so curious to read the rest of the series!
Something else I would’ve liked to see was a bit more description of the characters. I felt like they were described very vaguely and repetitively.
I really liked how the author mixed real life with made up countries and we weren’t fully thrown into a made up world. It also made it cool how you can link and compare the events that are happening in the book to real life and actual events.

Dunya
Dunya is someone who went and is going through so much in her life, and I absolutely loved how I could really feel her emotions and not just read them. This made Dunya such an amazing character to read about because I really felt like I knew what she was going through.
"I was always lonely, but being lonely while surrounded by people hurt more."

Radoslav
He is such a cinnamon roll who you just want to give a big hug to. Radoslav want the best for everyone he loves, especially Dunya which just makes his love so genuine and wholesome.
"Families aren’t just about sharing blood… for a real family, love and respect and mutual sacrifice are just as important-more important."

Overall
The dual perspectives was so nice! I’m a huge was of it and this was done in such an amazing way.
This is just my personal opinion, but although it’s cute, I feel like the cover doesn’t match that well with the story of the book.
At first I didn’t really see the chemistry between Radoslav and Dunya, it felt a bit forced to me, but after learning how they got together and everything they went through and how they were handling things together and made me really appreciate their relationship and they were just so cute.
"Not much to look at, maybe, but Rado had never taken advantage of me, never lied to me. He’d never asked for anything in exchange for what he offered-except the kind of love I wasn’t sure I could give. He was so good it scared me."

Inseparable isn’t the type of book I usually read, but I really enjoyed reading something out of my comfort zone!

Disclosure: I received this book free from the publisher/author. The opinions I have expressed are my own, and I was not required to write a positive review. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

A great conclusion to the Shards of Sevia series!

Radoslav and Dunya were great characters. Both had strengths and weaknesses and seemed very human. This book had high stakes, suspenseful scenes, and plenty of character development. I've read a couple of other books in this series, and I enjoyed getting to see some people from previous books. I did find the politics/war a little confusing at times, but that's probably because I haven't read the entire series.

Overall, Inseparable was an exciting, realistic read that I'd recommend to those who enjoy Christian fiction, romantic suspense, and speculative novels.

Inseparable, Shards of Sevia is book 6 in this series by E. B. Roshan. In a war torn world, citizens are trying to survive enemy occupation. A family being pulled by opposing sides and struggling to stay together, finds that being in the family of believers of God is the comfort they need until they can someday live in peace. The message of this story was stirring.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. The opinions expressed are completely my own.

When you keep thinking about a book while carrying on with your regular, run of the mill life, you know you have a winner.

This is the 6th book of the series, but I haven't read the previous ones and had no problem figuring out what was going on. I loved the action, the tension, the relationships, and the unpredictability. It makes me want to go back and start at the beginning of the series!

Inseparable is book six in Roshan's Shards of Sevia series, and I have not read the first five, so I can't speak to how this book fits into the larger story being told in any depth. I was still able to follow the story, but it was clear that I had been dropped into a story that started a long time ago, in a world that had been previously established, and I'm sure that many of the relationships, characters, and other details would have had greater depth had I read the rest of the series beforehand.

Because I didn't realize at first that this was a continuation of the Shards of Sevia series, I initially expected a story that focused on characters coming out of a war and settling into life after the war. While that's not an entirely inaccurate description of Inseparable, the context of the series makes this a story that is much more connected to the war itself than I went in expecting. This story is very much colored by the conflicts of this world and the series' earlier books; it's a raw, conflict-heavy story with broken characters who struggle with faith. Overall, I think it does what it does fairly well. The characters feel genuine, the world and conflicts therein play a crucial role in the story, and the world is realistically harsh for the circumstances. The writing is well-balanced for the genre, to-the-point much of the time but with vividly specific descriptions sprinkled where they're needed. The highlight of this book, for me, were the familial relationships and themes, which have been Roshan's consistent strengths over everything I've read from her.

This book wasn't exactly what I was looking for, or a genre I normally read, so it was only a three-star read for me personally, but it was well-done and I would recommend it to those who more heavily read post-apocalyptic fiction or similar genres.

FTC Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for a review. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.

This was a quick. simple read that was nonetheless quite intense, packed with action and never a dull moment. It’s not my usual reading fare, but it was a great way to spend an afternoon.

Characters: Dunya and Rado are a good couple with an interesting dynamic that works well to fuel the plot. They both have good, well-developed arcs and are realistic and relatable.

Content: A married couple kisses. A woman ponders her potential infertility.
Characters are abducted and treated harshly. It’s implied that characters are executed.

Writing: The plot flows well, with excellent pacing and just the right amount of intensity. The worldbuilding is good, too; this feels like a real place!
I was a bit confused by all the different factions and governments, but that could just be because I’ve only read one other of the books in this 6-book series.

Summary: Though not my typical type of story, this was a good read with great themes like holding onto hope and trusting God in the bleakest of circumstances. I’d recommend it to fans of dystopian fiction aged 13+.

Inseparable (Shards of Sevia Book 6) by E. B. Roshan is the final book in the “Shards of Sevia” series. Each of the books in the series can be read as stand-alones, but there are connections to characters and/or events in each book, so I suggest you read them in order.

The Shards of Sevia is a series of books about characters who live in a country ravaged by war. In the final installation, the characters, Radoslav and Dunya, were brought together by the war. Now, they are trying to live a peaceful existence, with their adoptive son, in a fishing village far from the conflict zone. Or are they? They may not be near the brunt of the fighting and violence of the war, but they still face conflicts, such as Dunya’s one remaining family member’s reaction to and opinion of Dunya’s marriage to Radoslav. As they attempt to adjust to a new life, they soon receive news that requires them to travel to a town near the fighting. During their journey, more trouble comes.

Inseparable is filled with danger, trouble, and suspense. E. B. Roshan keeps the reader on the edge of their seat as they hope all will turn out well for Radoslav, Dunya, and their little boy. Roshan does a great job of portraying life in a war-torn area and portraying the troubles between two groups of people and the government.

As the dangers and problems ramp up, the reader continues turning pages, sometimes holding their breath and hoping for a happy ending. This story is intense and the ending bittersweet, making it very realistic and leaving the reader with the realization of what it’s like to live in a place where war, if not in your immediate vicinity, is all around you, and has an effect on your life that could be detrimental in one way or another. But, Inseparable also touches on the internal struggles and emotions that, not only face people in a war zone, but that face people anywhere. Dunya’s internal struggles are realistic, making her a very relatable character.

I have read all of the books in the “Shards of Sevia” series by E. B. Roshan and I highly recommend them to readers who enjoy realistic stories that include love stories. No, not romance, but love. There is a difference. I have enjoyed these books, but I have to say that the first book and this last book are my favorites. I also recommend these books to both men and women. I look forward to seeing what E. B. Roshan writes next.

5 stars. I’m not ready to say goodbye to the Shards of Sevia series, but this was the best way to end it. I love Radoslav & Dunya, and I’m thrilled to see their story unfold. It was so nice to see Dunya finally realizing God’s and Rado’s love and express her own… I hope Erkan finally found victory + peace and got a happy ending. And I loved seeing Rado’s peaceful, God-trusting ways carry him through.

Once again, I really enjoyed seeing the politics play out. Perhaps “enjoy” isn’t the right word, considering everything… “appreciated,” perhaps? It held a lot of food for thought, anyways. The messages on racism, war, and moving on… they were excellent. And it was so fun to see Canada play a part! Also, as someone who deals with mixed culture, I really appreciated seeing how that was handled… and I found Rado’s thoughts on the motives behind mercy very interesting.

The suspense was splendid, and while I wish there was a happy epilogue I’m well satisfied. Looking forwards to rereading the whole series!

Content: mild, undetailed violence + kidnapping, hostage holding, & execution set-up; mentions of murder, violence, genocide, and other civil war evils; brief, undetailed married romance; mentions of characters struggling with tobacco and alcohol addictions; lots of reference to cultural tattoos. I found the violence quite a bit milder than the other books in the series.

A Favourite Quote: If Mosin grew up among Sevians and never spoke his parents' mother tongue, or got his arms tattooed when he became a man, or learned our ancient songs and stories, he would still be Tur. It was in his blood.
A Favourite Humorous Quote: "I pray every day that God will heal him—his heart, I mean."
"Well, if your prayers also convinced God to restore his youthful beauty, Erkan wouldn't be offended.”

I have received an ARC copy from the author and am writing this review voluntarily.

Set against a war-torn Sevia, Inseparable tells the story of an unlikely romance. Dunya Durband from the Rayad tribe marries Radoslav Belko, a Sevian. Although Radoslav loves Dunya, she is not sure about her love for him, wondering if she only married him to enable her to adopt Mosin - the baby boy of her friend who died in the war.

Just after they adopt Mosin, Dunya's brother Erkan reveals the existence of Mosin's grandparents, and they lay a claim on their grandson.

Thus, Dunya and Radoslav set out on a journey to Klim to meet Mosin's grandparents and decide about his future.

The arrival of the International Peacekeeping Force (IFP) ends the civil war and genocide in Sevia, but when they withdraw, unrest and strife flare again, making the journey to Klim a dangerous one.

However, E.B. Roshan also takes us on Dunya and Radoslav's inner journey—their turmoil at giving up Mosin, whom they love as their own, and their fear that losing him will tear their marriage apart.

A constant thread throughout the narrative is their reaching out to God for help, guidance, and the strength to make the right decision about Mosin.

Inseparable is a character-driven story in which the author explores the characters' feelings and motivations. We see Dunya's turmoil about her feelings for her husband and her fear of losing Mosin to his grandparents. However, Radoslav only wants to keep Dunya and Mosin safe.

Dunya and Radoslav's physical journey to Klim and their internal journey will test their love for each other and determine if they are genuinely inseparable.

Inseparable is the sixth and final installment in the Shards of Sevia series. I have read two other books in the series (Wrong Place, Right Time and For Better and Worse) and can confirm that the books can be read as a standalone. However, I would recommend reading the first book Wrong Place, Right Time first for the most context although it is not necessary.

This book is very family-oriented, focusing on Dunya, Rado, and their adopted son Mosin. When they discover that Mosin’s grandparents are alive, the couple is faced with a difficult decision. This leads to doubts and questions about their relationship.

As has been the backdrop throughout the series, there is an emphasis on war as well as maintaining faith in God when things are falling apart. This was portrayed exceptionally through Dunya and Rado.

I’m sad to hear that this is the last book in the series, but I am glad that I still have three others to go back and read. I look forward to seeing whatever E.B. Roshan creates next!

A huge thanks to the author for reaching out and sending me a free digital ARC to read and leave my honest review!

*I read an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own; a review was not required.*

Inseparable is book 6 in the Shards of Sevia series! It carries a lot of action and some deep questions surrounding adoption in a war-torn and segregated world. It's a quick read, but I did struggle to follow the storyline from time to time toward the end of the book, but that may have just been me. The storyline focuses heavily on trusting God even when you don't really want to do what His will is, or if you're not even sure where He's leading you, which is a really great theme that I appreciated! If you've enjoyed the series so far, you'll definitely want to pick this one up as well!
