The idea behind this is perfect - how can we balance taking great care of our pets and handling the rest of our lives without feeling guilty?

Lots of great and helpful tips though at 10 years old it is starting to show it's age. A lot of emphasis on being an "alpha" "dominant" dog mostly concentrated in the early part of the book.

Fantastic information about enlisting others to help you care for your dog, great ways to engage and be social with your dog, how to travel with them, how to make sure they can move with you if you have to relocate.

Wonderful pictures help emphasize the material. It was quick read, great for busy pet owners.

Would love to see a refresh of this book!

It delivers exactly what it promises: tips about how to care properly for a dog if you are a busy person. I love that this book doesn't condescend or try to guilt dog owners for not doting on their dogs 24/7 as many other dog care books I've read do. Instead, it gives practical advice, while also ensuring that having a dog is right for the person. It doesn't deliver anything particularly unusual, because dogs do need attention and love and entertainment, but it takes a more realistic approach.

A quick read for (as the title implies) busy dog owners. As with all dog advise books, take with common sense prescription. Many great quick and easy ideas for keeping your sanity and your life while adjusting to having a dog.
