She bought the cabin on a whim. But will it transform into her perfect getaway?Burnt out from her high-flying author career and dreaming of escaping her busy Manhattan life, when Laura discovers her husband cheating on her with another writer, she knows it’s time for a change. After her brother calls her about a country Bed and Breakfast for sale, Laura ditches New York and buys it on the spot… only to realize that the run-down cabin will need more than a little elbow grease to restore it to working condition.
As she’s swept up in the quiet joys of small-town life, an ad in the local paper draws her to the rugged handyman Paul – and though his wicked humor sours first impressions, she soon warms to his rustic charms. But her past isn’t done with her yet. Faced with the daunting reality of fixing up her cabin – and with her Manhattan agents pressuring her to return to the big city – Laura must find the strength to commit to her new future… and maybe find true love along the way.
Was this cabin the worst impulse buy in her life? Or will she find happiness amid the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains?
Dive into a cozy small-town adventure that will charm your heart with a feel-good story of new beginnings, wholesome romance, and healing from the past. The Smoky Mountain series is a delightful read that’s perfect for anyone who wants to grab their favorite coffee and be whisked away on an enchanting saga.
Grace Meyers is an author of beachy feel-good romances and women's contemporary fiction. She was born in the south, but has traveled a bit since then and now lives in a small coastal town.
This Drew character comes into play more. He’s sneaky, condescending and every bit as toxic as we thought.
Laura on her journey of saving her cabin, yes, HER cabin, Laura meets Eleanor. I loved this character. Perhaps she reminds me of my grandma, but you can tell she’s sharper than she appears. Her wit and charm just woo over readers.
After meeting Eleanor, Laura has even more wonderful ideas for her cabin!
Noah is of course there to be supportive. In prior books,I mentioned Noah was written as “too perfect.” This book I felt as though he was more humanized. Why? Because his timing was just a bit, like dude, read the room. Haha not a bad character by any means, just knocked him down a peg off that perfect pedestal.
This lady is going through all sorts of things and the guy whose the handyman just proposed to her. What in the Hallmark hell is going on? I’ll read the last one to find out…
Does anyone actually pay attention to what they are reading? Many spelling errors and then, randomly Laura and Noah are leaving the storage unit and somehow Noah becomes someone named James. Maybe you shouldn’t write a book inside of a book. This whole series had so much potential.
Laura has had a hard time trying to open the B&B. There seems to be so many issues popping up when she thinks she has everything solved another issue pops up to keep her from opening the B&B. She grows more attached to it day by day. This issue with Drew is about to get the best of her & stopping all chances of her being able to open her beloved B&B. As Laura & Noah grow more fond of each other, Drew shows up at the cabin making threats to her personally & more scheming he has come up with. So far, she had been able to handle everything with Noah by her side. She’s alone with him, oh why did she invite him in. She is afraid but she is able to keep up the front she has displayed. He’s even trying to get her to buy the cabin from him for a ridiculous price since she is going to loose anyway. Can she and Noah find what they need in time to stop him? Will what they have found help her at all. This is one of those books you want to know what happens, but you don’t want it to end!
I received this ARC for free & I am giving my review for free & in my own words. What is going to be the verdict? Will Drew get the property or will he go to jail???
Things are heating up between Laura and Noah. What’s going to happen next as they continue dealing with Drew? Will she be able to stay or have to move???
Book 6 isn’t showing up so I’ll add it here to complete the series. I’d give this one 3 1/2 stars. First, because early on there are several pages that don’t make any sense because they talk about the previous owners wanting the cabin back, but the previous owners are no longer living. Then a few pages later, the attorney talks about the mess with Drew has been closed. Second, I feel it was a little rushed. Trying to get too much into the last book, trying to wrap things up.
Overall, I’d recommend the series for quick, easy, reads with a little learning about the Smoky Mountain region of the U.S.
Book five in the “Great smoky mountains” series of novellas. I am actually in shock and dissapointed. There is no way on planet earth that I can possibly give this book a rating.
I’m not going to rate this one as I don’t believe the author could have possibly intended for the mistakes in this novella to make it through the editing process??? Book five was a big let down, spelling mistakes and all of a sudden we have one characters name change?! Who on earth is James and why have so many people just ignored this in their reviews lol?
I will be finishing the series as I do like the story line but sadly the poor editing in this book has really ruined my overall feeling towards this series which is a huge shame.
Laura visited Drew's aunt who'd safely stored boxes from Nancy in a secure location. Noah and Laura poured through these boxes and found several solid leads, help into hopefully being or staying as Laura's cabin.
Laura is making a scrapbook of past visitors of the cabin and she and Noah are enjoying all of the stories that go with the pictures. Finally, Noah let Laura know how he felt about her her and she couldn't make a definite decision because of all the legalities and emotions on her plate right now, We know they do love each other.
I received a free, ARC, copy and am giving my free, honest and voluntary review.
Things are heating up as Drew begins to threaten Laura, including veiled threats of a fire. Her and Noah find a letter from Nancy to her sister stating she is afraid Drew is up to something. Noah plans a relaxing get away
Lauren comes up with a plan to make a memory book filled with pictures and stories from past guests. David assures his sister the real estate purchase was totally legitimate. Noah has a surprise question for Laura. How is Eve going to wrap up? Who has a legitimate claim to the property?
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
The chaos continues. Drew, Nancy's nephew is an unsavory character who is scheming to take the cabin from Laura. The legal battles continue, Laura and Noah connect with Nancy's sister to get more information, but the struggle is real. Noah tries to make their relationship permanent, but Laura hesitates. Is this another mistake? I received an advanced reader copy of this book, and this is my honest review.
Say Yes!! Noah is one beautiful, patient, loving, protective and kind man. He is the man that Laura needs on her corner. Laura could sure use a break and she needs something positive to happen. Drew needs to be put back where he belongs. This cozy mystery has me hooked and clinging to the edge of my seat in anticipation for the finale!!!
This is my review and my own opinion as an ARC reader!
I enjoyed this book of the series. The only thing negative I see about it is the typos. Starting at about page 19, several times Noah was referred to as James. Kind of threw me off at first, but I still enjoyed the book.
The saga continues. Does Laura get to keep the cabin or will Drew be able to take it away. And, most exciting, will Laura or won’t Laura commit to Noah. Read on to find out. A good read. Thank you for the ARC copy.
