I know it's free (on Amazon), but wow I don't remember the last time I read such a vague, unuseful book.
For the bare basics of making soap, check out the free pdf on the "Lovin Soap" blog.
For the other helpful things the book mentions (like scents, natural or other colorants, or selling/marketing) look elsewhere. The author only vaguely mentions these, with no examples or ideas, no links to external sites, nothing.
I learned more from a10 minute Youtube video than this book had to offer.
What an interesting book! I've always fancied making my own soap, but it seems very complicated by the looks of it. This gem of a little book gave you details of exactly how to make soap, what ingredients you need, all about lye (it's toxic and is in soap), how to colour the pesky little bars and lots more besides. I did enjoy it! Reading the book that is, I haven't actually made a bar of soap yet. There are lots to buy.
This review truly reads as if someone read a few books on soapmaking then decided to write their own book. If out are soapmaker at all, do not waste your time. If you are brand new or curious about soapmaking, look elsewhere for a much more informative book.
Anybody can search and find all of the content. I am happy because it was free. I wouldn't buy such an empty book. There is only one receive. The rest is kind of wikipedia knowledge.
