This girl who grew up on a Kansas dairy farm never wanted to be a writer, but she has always been a storyteller. Her mother called it "Selling wind in a bag." Lynne started out writing plays and skits. Then in a moment of sheer insanity, she decided to take a stab at writing full-length novels. Reinventing Leona was her first and it is no longer in print. The Carthage Chronicles are her time travel/sci-fi series. The Mt. Hope Southern Adventures series starting with WALKING SHOES and The Women of Fossil Ridge series starting with FLYING FOSSILS are her contemporary romantic comedy series. And GHOST HEART and PORT OF ORIGIN are part of her Agents of Mercy Medical Thriller series.

Lynne can milk a cow, drive a tractor, organize a banquet, prepare a kid for that first professional acting audition, or sit across the table and enjoy a cup of coffee with you.

She loves spending time with her family and medical therapy dog.

This book is a Bible study that is thought provoking and inspiring. With some parables of the Bible and some stories about people that are part of history. Some up to date stories and some from the author. There are discussions on stories in the Bible and questions to ask your Bible study group too. If you want an in depth discussion on the Bible about certain passages this book may be for you. I personally don’t have a Bible study group but it would be a nice place to start with this book.
Thanks to the author for a copy of this audiobook. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

I am impressed with Ms Gentry and this bible study. I've been in church since my mother could take me after my birth. I've listened to many preachers and heard the Bible stories many, many times. But Ms. Gentry has given me "food for thought" with several of the parables: things I had not heard before, considered, or thought about. I enjoyed her perspective. I believe doing this Bible study can help me grow in my personal relationship with God & Jesus. Ms Gentry gave me an audible copy. I choose to write this review.

Lynne Gentry, as a fiction author, knows the makings of a good story. In this 7-session Bible study featuring God's best stories, the parables of Jesus, Lynne first acquaints us with the culture in which they were shared. Then, as now, a story speaks differently to each member of Jesus's audience.

Designed for individual or group study with questions for each section, she encourages us to write down our own story to see how God has used each part of our personal story for our good. A set of seven teaching videos accompanies the personal study as well.

The story of the Good Samaritan on the road to Jericho was one that I particularly see in a new way after listening to this audiobook. Lynne points out that the religious men who passed by the injured man were probably not all that religious, since Jericho was known not only for evil and corruption in general (having been destroyed by God via Joshua fifteen hundred years before), but also for religious leaders who mixed worship of false gods with that of the One True God.

I appreciated this in-depth approach to gleaning from some of the parables I thought I knew!
