Not completely broken and useless to others
Wade believes his failures and his missing foot make him less of a man, he is his own harshest critic, Crystal however only sees the warrior infont of her. I really enjoyed seeing the trust and bond between them grow as they navigate through the assassination attempts and the bounty hunters to work out exactly where the leak is......the Marshals office or a connection to his only remaining team mate? The stakes are high with Crystal's grandparents still unconscious in hospital and Wade having an elderly Aunt that needs protection, running means they only have each other to rely on. But this pressure only increases the chemistry between them, with sparks flying from every page.

Second in the Marshals of Mesa Point series, in which US Marshall Crystal Remington is determined to keep Wade Brewer safe so that he can testify against a drug kingpin. This is easier said than done given that there is a huge bounty on his head and Crystal isn't sure who she can trust. Nor is she sure she can trust Wade not to try to run from her, too, given that he's certain one of his fellow soldiers would never turn on him--even if there is increasing evidence that he may be behind the people trying to kill him before he can go to court.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I really enjoyed it - the suspense, action, and of course a little romance. I definitely recommend it.

Good book with strong action and interesting characters. While it’s part of a continuing series, the connection to the other books is very minimal so it easily can be read stand alone.
