Found this gem in a box in my basement. All four condensed stories were terrific!! Want to read all eight of Herriot's series, it touched me the most. Gentle and funny, he tells stories from his earlier days as a country vet, treating animals large and small, and healing people along the way. Heartwarming and delightful!!! Five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
