I am done with this book but only read the first chapter. I bought this based on a variety of reviews of the author. He just does not do it for me. Feels like too much repetition of stuff I already know plus a lot of “filler” and unnecessary verbiage. Or something. Understand. I rarely actively choose to read a book, actually start reading it, then decide to not finish after a chapter or two.
I have limited time to read. I am on a “mission” to grasp a set of material, digest it well and move forward. This one, for me, it is not going to get me there. I prefer to invest more time in the other dozen books I have been listening to on audiobook and/or reading - studying, often.
I have nothing bad to say about the book or the author, it simply is not sufficiently challenging for where I am. There is too much “rote church-ese” I think is what it is… sounds too formulaic, or something. Been there, done that. Kept trying come back to it and finish it, but it feels like it is “stealing” time from others that are hitting the mark, so I have decided to shelf it.
YMMV: your mileage may vary.
