9/9/24 TBH I thought the book was okay though kinda underdeveloped - it's REALLY short for a c-novel, but the end was ... ugh. Kinda hated it? Felt like the author just threw in the kitchen sink. Also unnecessary torture. Oh look! Now both our leads are ostracized! 😒 And that stupid asshole crown prince to emperor like WTAF - just so much was so thoughtless.
I read it cuz I'm curious about the drama - I like Cheng Lei. However seeing the preview now I'm super eyeroll at the changes they made to his character. Whatever - this was like a D+ read. Not mad I read it, but wouldn't read it again nor rec it to others.
~*~*~*~*~ With Jin's Chang'an [drama name: Shadow Love] Prologue O.o what in the fuck
C1 Li Shuang is badass (and I can’t see her as Song Yi 🙃)
Lol c9 worst proposal ever. Love our girl is looking for marriage though. Dude asking is … 🫠 I’m so curious about him!
C11 yay! ML to the rescue again! Also that little shit traitorous official needs to die a public miserable death
C12 omg I’m snort laughing “Li Shuang stood stunned as he continued, “I wore clothes today, so I’m no longer shameless. Will you marry me now?””
C15 😹😹😹☠️☠️☠️ her guard Jin Rong telling ML to give a lady what she wants… so he drops off the enemy’s head and their banner (technically 3 heads though only directly “gifting” the third…) 🫠
C18 lololol FL helping her blockhead guard(s) out with romance

This novel is only about 46 chapters. It was an interesting and quick read.
I gave it two stars due to the fact that the beginning dynamic of the ml and fl did get awkward for me at times (if you've read it you'll know what I mean). I would have dropped it completely had it not been my interest for one of my favourite actors playing the ml and wanting to know what to expect before the drama released.
