Highly recommend this book! Practical lessons and ideas to boost classroom culture, student engagement, and relationships! Good for new and veteran teachers that need something fresh and real!
Well, it’s the start of a new year and I’m on holidays but school will be back in session sooner rather than later so I am reading up on how to keep the passion alive as I head to middle school. I was looking for tips on making lessons more fun/ engaging (I think worksheets are a boring way to teach) and this book definitely delivered. If you skip the chitter chatter and slightly repetitive reasons for having written the book, there are some terrific ideas to choose from. I’m not a leader so I skimmed that part of the book. I did like the LIST of ideas that were presented in the book. Easy to scan to determine what you polemics for a lesson. Worth a read!
A great resource and gets you thinking about new ways to engage students and some ways from when I was one myself. Today we are truly teaching in what feels like a new world. Love the breakdown and full explanation of activities and different ways to adapt them as well. Will definitely be sharing with colleagues and friends.
