New 52 Suicide Squad is a solid book, but it misses the mark to make it great.
Out of the 30 issues, around 5 volumes, you have 2 I'd rate between a 3.5-4. Two a 2.5-3. And sadly the last 6 issues, or volume 5 a 2/5. The thing with suicide squad is the start is great, off the walls, fun. But it slows down and gives us a lot of "bring back the dead" That I didn't love. Then by volume 4 we get a new writer, things go weird and fun, and then he leaves and another writer comes in and brings some cool ideas but a pretty awful execution.
Overall, suicide squad feels like it wants to take chances, but too scared to actually make em. A 3 out of 5, for fun popcorn type movie comic feel but not much more.
