Successful lawyer Julieta Martí is certainly a success on paper: respectable job, good salary, perfect daughter to her immigrant parents. As the eldest daughter, she hoped to do wonderful things with her life, but spent it appeasing her parents and watching over her cousins instead. When Julie's late grandmother, a famous tango dancer, leaves her shoes to Julie, she doesn’t know what to make of it, but she wonders if it might be a sign to reinvent her life. She secretly signs up for tango classes, keeping it under wraps from her family, and uncovers a buried passion.
World renowned dancer Logan Beck isn’t sure what he wants to do anymore. He’s been dancing since he was thirteen years old, but recent events have left him feeling unsettled. His last competition was rough, his longtime partner is moving away, and he’s not feeling the love for it like he used to.
When Logan meets Julie in class, there’s an unexplainable spark between them. Nobody is more surprised than him when she asks for not only private lessons, but a partner for a competition—the very one he messed up a year earlier. As they tackle the brand new partnership, Julie learns to chase joy in her life, Logan feels his passion for dance reignite, and the fire between them burns even hotter.
But when Julie starts living two lives and Logan’s hope for redemption hangs on the line, something is bound to slip. And it might only be a matter of time before everything falls apart.

I love this book! I read it in one sitting, and before I knew it, I had finished reading it! Thank you, @nw.writes, for giving me the opportunity to read this!
Julie's a character that I loved getting to know, and the more I got to know her, the more I related to her. She's spent her whole life appeasing everyone but herself, and in that, I find myself. This book and Julie, with her bravery to live life for herself instead of others, teach us that we don't need to please everyone and be perfect because that will just make us miserable, and we'll end up with the regret of not living life the way we want to. It's our life; we get to choose how we live it, not anyone else. Natalia wrote such a relatable character in Julie that it made it so much easier to get lost in the book.
Logan is a wonderful love interest. He's sweet, sexy, and listens to Julie and her problems without any judgement. He respects her and lets her take things at her own pace. And let's be honest, who doesn't love a guy who can dance?! It was wonderful to be able to see things from his POV. To see how much he adores Julie and learn about the relationship he has with tango.
The relationship between Julie and Logan is hot from the get-go. It was comical watching them try to fight the attraction they felt toward one another, but you could just tell they'd eventually give in to it because of how strong it was, and boy did they ever! It felt like a thread had snapped, and then all of a sudden, they couldn't get enough of each other!

This book dives deep into the baggage that many of us must carry, from our childhood, well into our adulthood- the emotional burden of trying to do everything by the book, follow the path pre-determined by our family so that they are happy and hopefully feel proud of us. Because they sacrificed so much to make us who we are today. How can we disobey them by following our heart and doing things that we love or actually want to do?
I really cried at the helpless and self-imposed hurt that Julieta, the FMC, experiences. Of that constant back and forth between what everyone thought she should do and what she truly wanted to do- dance the tango just like her grandmother had.
After she inherits her grandmother's vintage tango shoes, what follows is a journey of self-discovery and the acceptance of happiness and joy and tranquility that she feels when she looks within and tries to find the answers to what she truly wants in life. And, on that path, she comes face to face with Logan Beck, a professional dancer who has been dancing since he was thirteen years old.
I got to learn so much about this beautiful dance form- tango. And the cute romance bubbling between Julie and her dance instructor, Logan, made me smile like a goofball from time to time. It truly is heartwarming that both find solace and purpose in each other, through each other.
"It's incredible to watch, really- watching somebody do something they love and watching them do it so well."
Thank you for a wonderful book, Natalia. One of my new favourites.
Man this was too freaking cute. I loved Julieta’s journey and the deep connection she had to tango. And Logan was such a great support, and Julieta reinvigorating his love for dancing was amazing to read. I’m a ballroom dancer, and while I don’t dance Argentine tango, I can still appreciate how much research and care went into this. Natalia showed how much respect she has for the dance, and obviously her love for her culture. It was touching! A great read for all lovers of dance and romance. Now I’m even thinking of trying out Argentine tango!
The family ties, the beautiful story, the dancing elements. There is so much to love in this book. One of my favorite things I loved though is the Julieta (MFC) finding her true joy and passions throughout the book and all the characters pushing her and helping support her. All of the characters you love and there is nothing but just love through family and friends in this book.
I kinda wished the ending wasn’t as rushed in the dancing elements and that the third act “breakup” was shorter.
Still can’t wait to see where this series goes next!!! 💃🏽❤️
4.5⭐️I did this backwards reading book 2 in this series before this one. I fell so hard for Agostina & Gavin that I knew I’d want to read this.
Julieta and Logan’s story felt a lot softer to me. The tie in to Argentinian Tango was beautiful and sensual. I love them.
“This feels like we’ve done this dance before, like our feet have met in rhythm before. Like my body settles into a place it has known for a long time. She welcomes what we’re doing. She trusts it, I quickly notice, and that’s a very big thing.”
I really enjoyed this. I felt like I learned so much about dancing; it truly seemed magical when Julieta experienced it. Both Julie and Logan felt like real people.
There was a reveal in this book that would have been a point of friction (and dramatically overdone) in many other books, but I was SO GLAD that the characters treated it realistically. The ending was also well done.
I'm looking forward to seeking out Williams' other book!
As a fellow eldest daughter of immigrant parents, I resonated with this book so much. The guilt/guilt-tripping theme is so real. And sometimes it takes us almost 30 years to break out of that people-pleasing mold and do what we want, not what our parents want
Other things I loved: Argentinian culture Learning to set boundaries and say no
A powerful story about love and tango! I loved this romance that was equal parts delightful and touching. 🥰 I rooted for Julieta and Logan's love the whole time and wasn't disappointed. Read it!
