I really loved this story. It IS a secret baby trope but not in the normal way it's presented and I really liked it was so different. The suspense on this one was 5 stars, the romance took a little bit more of a back seat with only small spurts here in there which for me I'd rate a 3 stars in romance... averaging a 4 star rating which is a great rating for this book! This was my first book by Laura and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Liz is a Midwife that is still healing from a failed relationship and the loss of her child. Her way of healing is to give back to the community and she does so as a Midwife running a clinic on a reserve. But everything changes when Rebecca comes in to deliver her baby, and she's been shot in the chest. Liz is able to save her baby Micah but as Rebecca is dying she tells Liz to find Micahs father , Garrett and have him keep him safe.

Chief Deputy Garrett has been struggling for a while after the loss of one of his coworkers and he is still grieving that loss when Liz shows up in his office. But what a surprise to find out the baby Liz has is HIS son, and not only that but someone's trying to kill him! Who would want to kill a baby? Liz and Garrett have to work together to keep Micah safe, which also makes them a target. Everywhere they go they are at risk of being killed, and everytime they fight for their life together they are at risk of falling for eachother. But he isn't looking for love, she isn't open to it, but under these conditions anything is possible!

This story is wonderful! I preordered it last night, got it today, and binge read the whole thing in one day! It was THAT good!

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Guarding His Secret Son. I'm a huge fan of Laura's books, so I'm always excited to get one in the mail. This is an amazing book, It's well-written, action-packed, and full of drama. I know you are going to love it.

Midwife Liz Templeton is caring for a stranger who has just walked into her clinic. The woman has been shot in her chest but is in full-blown labor. "Please save my baby" After the baby was born she told her to take the baby to his father, then she died.

Chief Deputy Garrett Nichols was having a hard time. He had lost a man in a drug bust and had lost his zest for life and his faith. He blamed himself.. He had sent his men out and he was alone in the office. A beautiful woman knocked on the door wanting to speak to him. She tells him of his son and of his mother's murder. Shocked Garrett takes Liz and Micah on the run. This changes everything.

A terrifying journey with a newborn that he can't care of and a midwife, with danger around every corner. God has a plan for them, a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, give Him your heart and watch Him turn your life around.

This story has a secret baby trope. How Scott presented it had a unique twist to it in that the father learned he had a son right after the baby was born. The characters were great, and the pace was fast as Garrett and Liz were on the run from the bad guys who were after them and Garrett's son Micah. I enjoyed Garrett navigating becoming a father and learning to bond with his son. Liz also has her own issues to deal with (stillbirth and the aftermath of having a stillbirth). I enjoyed this suspense story.

Laura Scott is one of my favorite authors. I know she will have a story full of action and suspense, and this book didn’t disappoint!
Midwife Liz Templeton must feverishly work to deliver a baby to a woman that has walked into her clinic with a gunshot wound. As the woman is dying she asks Liz to take her son, Micah, to his father.
Chief Deputy Garrett Nichols is shocked to find Liz and baby in his office, informing him he is Micah’s father and the mother has been murdered. Now someone wants to kill the baby and they must work to stay ahead of ALL the bad guys!

I really enjoyed reading this book. It excited to see if this Authors other books are as exciting to read. This book held my interest and I couldn't wait to start the next chapter. It gave me a look inside the life of a police officer. Excellent writing. Laura Scott has a wonderful gift. A gift that allows us the readers to see inside the life of others, and for a short while become someone else, and to live a different life style. Liz is a midwife on a reservation. When Rebecca shows up with a chest gunshot wound in labor Liz delivers the baby boy - before she bleeds out Rebecca said to take the baby to his father Garrett. When someone tries to shoot them they have to figure out who is trying to kill them and why. Once again 5 attempts each day but this was a better story line than some- could have dumped the part about the dead partner guilt- didn’t add to the story !

Laura Scott never disappoints, and this may be one of her best. I love books where there is a secret baby, and this one was really good. A bit different than some I read, as it had the mother dying after the birth and the father finding out about the baby right after he was born.
Great characters and a lot of bad guys and suspense. Awesome read

Fantastic

This fantastic suspense, mystery, romance story kept me glued to the pages from start to finish. It also kept me guessing who the guilty party was, and I didn't figure it out until the very end. Although the mystery kept me on pins and needles the entire time, it also had moments that were tender and sweet. It truly is a must-read.

Well-written with interesting characters, it was a quick, entertaining read. Some of the situations were a bit unbelievable, though. Overall, a good read for those who like clean, contemporary romances/suspense.

Well that was a waste of my time… picked this up while feeling the feels postpartum in a Walmart.
How can so much happen and nothing at the same time? I was frustrated and bored. Weird religious undertones and a lot of prayer which felt like their answer to any plot hole. Wouldn’t recommend.

Gaurding his secret son - @laurascottbooks
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🌶:kissing (clean)
❗️:mentions of sexual activities outside of marriage, murder, death, violence

I really enjoyed this book,I wasn't a big fan of the baby being conceived by two friends and I really didn't like that he had feelings for that friend ,because it almost felt like if she didn't die ,then our main characters would never have been able to be together.

But the story and main characters were interesting and fast-paced.
