Cape Sands #2

Mine Forever

Rate this book
Two broken hearts that never mended. An impossible favor. And a hurricane that forces us to share a bed.

I had it all – a legendary baseball career, sponsorships, all the women I could want.

But the only one I wanted was Eden Mitchell, the woman who gave me her heart years ago until I broke it.

It was only a matter of time before my house of cards came tumbling down in a public scandal that ruined my career for good.

I had no choice but to return to my hometown of Cape Sands.

Then Eden finds me, asking for my help to save her business.

I’ve never been able to deny her, especially when she begs, but it means traveling to the scene of my demise.

Hard pass.

She doesn't know the whole truth about my downfall, and I don't want her to know.

But when a hurricane traps us in my house, with only one bed, we can’t keep our hands off each other.

I want to win her heart again. And going back to my past is the best way to do it.

My head says hell no, but my body and heart say to make her mine forever.

SPOILERS BELOW!!!

I don't know why I keep torturing myself with these 2nd chance shite. I know authors have a right to write whatever the hell they want and I respect that but honestly, is this the best everyone can do these days?

Anyway, plot - MCs were college sweethearts and very much in love but Hero walked away to start his Baseball career in major leagues because that was more important to him than her. Heroine stayed home to take care of her sick Mother who was a real tool.

Three years after their break up, Hero marries OW who is a "stunningly beautiful" ex-beauty pageant queen. He said he married her for "PR" reasons which I translated as him wanting to be in a high profile relationship for popularity & notoriety. He said he wasn't in love with her but there are times he says "I was never REALLY in love with her". The "really" felt like he might have loved her some, if not all. He also says that he emotionally cheated on his wife because he couldn't stop loving heroine.

Anyway, his marriage lasts for 3 years and because he didn't have a prenup, he was afraid his wife would steal all his money so he stayed married to her until he could find a way to break things off. For a PR "Stunt", why would he marry someone he didn't love & not have a prenup?
Then one day, OW tells him she is pregnant so he decides to make the marriage work. However, after coming back from a game one night, they go out to dinner and start fighting. She tells him she wants a divorce and that the baby is not his as she was having an affair with an OM 2 months after they got married to the present. He gets a bit drunk and asks her to drive them home. Then they get into an accident and the wife/baby die. He then beats up the OM whom his wife had the affair with and his precious career that meant more to him than heroine, is now over.

At the funeral after he buried his wife, heroine goes to his home to comfort him - even though they had not seen each other for 6 years, and they have sex. Afterwards, heroine feels guilty (as she should) that he had just buried his wife and because she doesn't want to get hurt again, she leaves him and doesn't answer his calls or texts so they both move on and don't see each other for another 4 years.

In the present, Hero is living a somewhat reclusive life with his close friends and heroine is an event planner in NY with her own business. We learn upfront that he has not been celibate and that he had a FWB type relationship 6 months prior with a local bartender who had left him to move away. BTW, we are also told that he didn't waste any time after their 1st or 2nd breakup in hooking up with others and yet we are suppose to believe that these two are soulmates and never stopped loving each other. He said he partied a lot before he first met heroine and dated swimsuit supermodels after her.

Heroine is an event planner and needs him to be the key speaker to one of her events otherwise her business is in ruins. She goes to him to convince him to speak at this event and he turns her down several times. She then gets stranded in a storm and has to stay a few days with him. She learns quickly all about his love life but does she care or feel jealousy, hurt, etc? Nope. She does say in one instance off the cuff that she is jealous of the OW FWB but just as quickly it's forgotten - same for his marriage which she never expressed any jealousy or hurt over him moving on and marrying someone else. For her though we don't get any background history of whether or not she was celibate but I assume she wasn't because she said prior to seeing Hero again that she hadn't had a date or sexy times in a while, but of course SHE didn't fall in love or marry anyone else.

Anyway, the rest of the story is heroine constantly horny for Hero and him doing a lot of pushing away up until the last 2-3 pages. Not once in this thing do you feel that either one of them are in love. Sex yes, but not love. And does he regret being with so many others after heroine? Nope. Does she mind that he was with others? Nope. What can I say? true love here folks.

I enjoyed this one for the most part. Chase and Eden have a complicated past. Well, complicated for them.

It's very clear that these two have some strong chemistry. Their attraction isn't easily hidden, and everyone can see it. But these two are both in their own way.

I think what frustrated me a little was the predictability in this one. It wasn't hard to anticipate what the next move would be or what the next situation they would face would be. The inner dialogue was a dead giveaway. I'm also not a huge fan of the third-act breakup, especially when the two MCs spend almost 60% of the time-fighting feelings, and then 20% later they just can't do it, and now we are all depressed again.

I did appreciate the epilogue and bonus chapter. They helped redeem some things for me. I just wish we had gotten more of that within the book because I wanted to see these two living life together, happy and carefree.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I am so happy to be back in Cape Sands. 😍

When Eden needs a keynote speaker for her event, she finds that she has no choice but to reach out to her college sweetheart, Chase. The only problem? Not only is Chase the one who broke her heart, but is also hiding from public view after the disastrous end of his marriage. When she does manage to find Chase, a storm is raging in, resulting in her needing to take shelter with her former flame with only one bed.

This is the best kind of forced proximity. Eden and Chase have so much to unpack together and being able to see them work through their feelings was freaking candy to me. I loved seeing them reconnect and find each other again. What I also loved is how open and honest they both were. Both had made decisions that resulted in them needing to walk in college, so it was refreshing to see them acknowledge these and look forward versus holding on to old resentments.

Chase, this man has been through the wringer so it was easy to see why he was guarded. I loved how open he was with Eden and willing to let her in. Even after all their years apart, you could tell that they had trust and would eventually find their way back to each other. I also very much enjoyed the spice and banter between Eden and Chase. The spicy scenes were fantastically done.

While I love a good second chance, that seems impossible for Eden Mitchell and Chase Hanover. Eden's attitude is “been there done that" but she finds herself in a predicament. Her keynote speaker for the big gala she and her company are planning can’t make it, and now she's scrambling to find someone in professional sports to fill in.

Unfortunately, her ex and former baseball superstar Chase is the only one she thinks she can convince to speak at the gala. She leaves New York City, flies down to Cape Sands, FL, and hunts down Chase. Not surprisingly, he’s not thrilled to see Eden, and his focus is on securing his property before the big hurricane hits the island. Eden gets stuck on the island with nowhere to stay, Chase lets her stay in his home, and fireworks commerce.

I’m already in love with this little coastal town and its people, but Eden and Chase are definitely the highlight here. Their story is poignant and emotional, their banter is entertaining, and the steam is off the charts. I loved watching them overcome the pain from their past, forgive each other, and work towards a happy forever. Charming, heartfelt, and humorous with a side of steam, you’ll love everything about this small-town, second-chance romance.

Chase is the grumpy hero who is afraid to love and be loved, due to childhood traumas. But he is really a great guy who will do anything for his little community.

Eden is a strong, smart, talented boss babe who works hard and loves (and values) her employees (and friends). Her humor and sass are on point, but also has her share of childhood traumas.

Eden and Chase are college sweethearts who parted ways when Chase went to the MLB. They reconnect again after a tragedy but Eden, to save her heart from heartbreak again, walks out on Chase. They haven’t spoken in 4 years since that night. Chase is no longer playing in the MLB and Eden’s business needs saving. Eden decides she needs Chase to be the one to do the saving. Off to Cape Sands Eden goes. Except once she gets there, Chase's welcome is not a nice one and to make matters worse she’s now stuck there because a hurricane has made its way to Cape Sands as well. Cue in the one bed and the forced proximity.

I loved Chase and Eden. These two were not over each other - no matter how hard they tried to convince everyone who would listen. Their chemistry was felt from the moment these two were on page, and it was THICK! Chase tried so hard to push her away, when all he wanted was to hold on to her and never let go. Eden was so stubborn in her own way. The sass she would give him, made me want to high five her and shake my head at the same time. I loved how passionate she was about her career but I knew she was just as passionate about love, but was also afraid.

These two were definitely broken but that due to the hurricane they were able to talk about the things that happened between them. Chase was honest- even with the heavy stuff - and some old wounds were able to heal.

This was my first Eliza book and it didn't disappoint. Oh and there were 2 epilogues!! #Beautimus!
The side characters were great. I loved how Charley embraced Eden and challenged her. The guys' friendships were great too. Seeing Lucas threaten to “take” Eden was priceless. I can’t wait to read Nate & Charley’s book (#1) and Lucas book (#3)!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 🌶️🌶️

Eden and Chase were college sweethearts. They broke up when he went to the majors and she decided to stay home and care for her sick mother. Six years later, tragedy strikes and they share a night of passion after seeing each other again for the first time in so long. Eden worries she’s going to get her heart broken again so she leaves before Chase wakes the next day. Four years pass and now Eden’s business is about to go under. Her company is hosting a big event that could help save her company. The problem? Her keynote speaker is injured. She needs a replacement and fast! Unfortunately, the best person for this task is none other than her ex she never seemed to truly get over, Chase Hanover. She flies down to Cape Sands to convince a very grumpy Chase to be her keynote speaker. But a hurricane hits and she’s forced to stay with him until it passes. Between the forced proximity, unresolved feelings, and the sexual tension… they’re in for a long few days!

This was another great read by Eliza. I’m becoming a sucker for the angst I only find in second chance romances. Especially when the MCs are perfect. Chase was so easy to love. Like YES, he’s a grump. But he’s a grump who does so much for his little community. He truly has a heart of gold even after all the trauma he’s been through. Eden was lovely as well. I love Eliza’s ability to write boss ass FMCs who are in touch with their emotions. Eden was also funny and relatable. Zero misses with this one, in my opinion.

I would recommend this book to a smut newbie or someone looking for a quick fluffy read even though it does discuss a few heavy topics!

This was my first Eliza Peake book, and it delivered a sweet, quick, and fluffy romance with just the right amount of spice. The story centres on Chase, whose baseball career is over, but he’s finally found peace after a messy chapter in his life. Then Eden, his college ex, shows up, asking for his help to save her business, and things get complicated—especially when they get stranded together during a hurricane.

The dynamic between Chase and Eden really worked for me. They’ve got a rocky past to sort through, but their chemistry is undeniable. Chase starts off as your classic grumpy hero, but you can’t help but feel for him as the layers peel back. Despite his gruff exterior, Chase is a genuinely good guy with a heart of gold, especially when it comes to his little community. I loved that about him. And Eden? She’s strong, smart, and relatable, with a sense of humour that balances the story nicely.

Their connection brings plenty of heat, and the forced proximity from the hurricane ramps up the tension in all the best ways. It’s a second-chance romance that’s both heartwarming and steamy. While the storyline is somewhat predictable, it’s still a fun and easy read with lots of charm.

If you’re in the mood for a quick, small-town romance with a possessive hero, a boss babe heroine, and some sizzling chemistry, this one’s worth picking up!

Spice: 🌶️🌶️

This was my first time reading a book by Eliza Peake and let me tell you it won’t be my last. I love a good sports/small-town romance. Eliza gave us a romance sprinkled with love, angst, and enough sexual tension that it didn’t feel cringy. Mine Forever followed two lost lovers on their journey to reconnect their hearts, bodies, and souls.

Eden and Chase, what's not to love about these two? Undeniable chemistry was off the charts from the moment they interacted 💋. Eden needs to save her company and to do that she needs to convince the one person she has not spoken to in 4 years. Chase. Our broody MMC doesn’t believe he is worthy of being with the person he loves because he thinks he will only bring them pain. His heart is battered and torn, but deep down it still beats for Eden. The Hurricane forces them together and the rest is history. Chase must fight his fears and anxieties to be happy. Their love was seeping through the pages and I devoured it.

It had everything I would want in a small-town romance book: love, angst, sexual tension, spicy scenes, and maybe a little tug at the heartstrings. Overall it was a great read and I look forward to reading the other stories in the series.

Oh my gosh, Eden and Chase! Eden takes a trip to Cape Sands to ask a huge favor from her ex, Chase. I knew the second they reconnected that their love was unforgettable. The chemistry between these two was 3xpl0sive from the instant they came face to face again. Their feelings are undeniable as they grow close again while being stranded together during a storm.
Once they cross a line, Chase has a very difficult choice to make.
I had a very hard time putting this book down! Once I dove in, I was undoubtedly hooked from the beginning. I devoured the first book in this series, and this one was just as fantastic. This was a wonderfully done second-chance romance, with just the right amount of spice! The plot was engaging and I adored the characters, as well as getting a glimpse into past characters!
I am excited for more in this series!

It's been 4 years since Chance and Eden last seen each other and she ran.

Now Eden needs his help which puts her in a terrible situation. Stuck in a hurricane with the one guys she shouldn't be alone with.

I devoured this book in one sitting. The character growth and the intense love between Charlie and Eden was everything I could have asked for in a romance novel. This book gets your attention from the start. No none sense fluff. From the first chapter I knew that Eliza Peake is now one of my new favorite Authors. I can not wait for book 3 in the series to come out.

This is the second book in the series. It's a great second chance romance. Eden and Chase have a history that didn't end on great terms. Now life is going to throw these two back into each other's orbit. Mother Nature is even getting in on the act. They have burning hot chemistry that's for sure. I really loved watching these two reconnect. You can't deny the connection they have. It's not an easy road with both of them dealing with past hurts. This book is also packed with plenty of feels. The end and epilogue made me so happy for these two. They are heartfelt. The tease for the next book sounds so intriguing. Can't wait for it!

This is my first Eliza Peak book, and it will most definitely not be the last. As an ADHD reader, I appreciated that her writing grabs your attention right away. Mine Forever cut right to the chase with no fluff to get lost in at the beginning. After breaking each other's hearts, college sweethearts Eden and Chase reconnect after years of separation at a pivotal time in her career, leaving them trapped with the ghost of their pasts in his beach house amidst a hurricane. The storm outside seems minor compared to what brews between them. It was captivating to see how these two former lovebirds work through their grief and come together as an ultimate dynamic duo.
This was a dual POV second chance read with a possessive grumpy MMC, and a sassy, sarcastic FMC. The comedic banter in this book was real and witty, with no lack of tension or spice.

I really enjoyed Mine Forever. The plot, characters and small town were very well described and definitely pulled you into the story. I really liked Eden and thought she was a great heroine. I enjoyed how she never gave up even in the face of pain, how she was so sure of herself and believes in Chase so much. I loved seeing the parts of her job and how passionate she was about her business. Chase was someone you couldn’t help but love even though he had a lot of demons he had to work through, you could tell he genuinely loved Eden but past experience had left him hurting so much. I enjoyed learning about his baseball career and how he’s found something else to put himself into. He also cares so much about his small town and the people in it. The chemistry between Chase and Eden was there from the start and you could tell the genuine love they had for one another. I loved seeing Nate and Charley! I can’t wait for book 3.

Old hurts, both of emotions and ego, can make people say or do less than smart things. Just ask Chase. He’s sure letting his ego drive because he doesn’t want to admit that the emotions are still there. Still strong. Still wanting Eden. But the fear is also just as real and might be even stronger. The question is, what does he do about it?

As for Eden, the same emotions and ego and fear are battling to win it all in her. But she’s more willing to let the ego and fear fall to the wayside if the emotions get a safe spot to flourish. Sometimes, though, life doesn’t work out like we hope or plan or fervently wish it will.

So we have old hurts. Present heartache. Possibly future misery. But we also have honesty. And two friends willing to do what it takes to save both Chase and Eden from that miserable future. So buckle up because this is a ride through hurt, hope, truths, lies, and how to align everything so you can finally be happy!

I’ve been loving this series so far. The last thing Eden expected was to go back and talk to a Chase. Throw in a hurricane and it’s a whole different story. The forced proximity, the chemistry, the truth. And of course as always I’m a sucker for a second chance, just too good!

Mine Forever is the second book I’ve read by Eliza, & just like book 1, it’s a 5⭐️ read! I loved it so much. All the emotions I was feeling, the emotional angsty moments, the steamy scenes, it was all fantastic. I couldn’t put this book down & didn’t want it to end.
I loved both Eden & Chase, but I really felt bad for Eden. She had her heart broken by Chase in the past, then all the events that happened afterwards & how he moved on (well sort of), I couldn’t even imagine how painful it was for her to have to have watched it. But I loved how Eliza wrote their story & how it was ALWAYS Eden for him, & everything wasn’t as it seemed. I was so relieved how he really felt about Heather, & never got over Eden. I love when first loves come back together & how they never got over each other. It’s such a special thing.
This story was so good & I can’t wait for Lucas’s story next!

Second chance romance is my favorite trope and not only is this a second chance, but it's also a small town, enemies-to-lovers, one bed, sports romance...what's not to love?

Chase's baseball career is over, but he's finally found peace after the mess that his life became. Then his college ex, Eden, shows up in Cape Sands seeking his help to save her business. He has to say no, but when they're forced together at Chase's home during a hurricane, he's not sure how long he can resist her.

This story drew me in right from the beginning. While Chase definitely starts off as the grump, my heart ached for him as the story progressed. I loved the chemistry between Eden and Chase. They definitely bring the heat when they're together!

Chase and Eden's story is a nice mix of all of my favorite tropes and I totally enjoyed it!

I really enjoyed returning to Cape Sands, but I also have to say that the story of Chase & Eden left me with mixed feelings, even so there were moments that I really enjoyed, especially the fact that Eliza showed us the past of these characters together, and of course, having small glimpses of the characters that stole my heart in the first book.

Eden is a woman who tries to save her business, and to do so she has to ask a favor from her ex, the man who broke her heart when she was younger and whom she hasn't seen for 4 years. She's a professional woman, who knows what she wants and is willing to do anything to get it. She has a sad family history that I would have liked to see shown more to get to know Eden fully. I really enjoyed reading her being the most resourceful in getting information about Chase too, facing her feelings for him and all those moments that the author gave us with her and Charlie.

Chase is a former baseball player who lost his wife, his job and his life as he knew it after a terrible accident, after that Chase decided to isolate himself from everyone and become the favorite grump of Cape Sands, something that I loved about his character and the plot of the book, but Chase also has his own tragic family history, one that is explored a little more, broke my heart and shows the great trauma that Chase carries from his past, another aspect that I would have liked to see much more developed too, especially for the ending that was given to this very important part of Chase's life and personality.

Eden & Chase have some really good moments throughout the story: an initial back and forth that I loved, even though Chase seemed really rude at times, I also LOVED reading the scene where they both realize that they are trapped inside his house until the hurricane passes and the flashbacks that the author prepared for us to learn more about these two's past together, however, I also think that things between Chase & Eden happen too quickly, as I mentioned before there are situations that, from my point of view, should have been developed more to make me completely love these characters.

Ever wonder what could have been? Ever think about the one who got away? What if you had to put on your big girl suit and leave your fears and bruised ego aside to save all you have built? That is what Eden does when she goes looking for her ex, Chase Hanover. She needs him to be the keynote speaker at a charity ball she is organizing. If she doesn't pull it through, she could lose her PR business, leaving her employees without work. Eden's plan is simple: find Chase, convince him to do the event, and return to NYC.

Chase is content living on a secluded Florida island. He helps everyone, yet is the town's grumpy resident. A former professional baseball player, Chase prefers the quiet, almost anonymous life he leads now in Cape Sands. As Chase prepares to face a hurricane about to hit the island, the last thing he expects is to come face to face with the one who got away. Talk about an unexpected storm!

Eden has her work cut out for her, as she faces a very cocky and bitter Chase who refuses to help her. Her bad luck leaves her stranded on the island, as the bridge that connects it to the mainland is closed because of the storm. No inn will give her a room. Chase finally gives her a roof to stay, and his grief and the ghosts he has been battling come out. Chase and Eden have never stopped thinking about each other, and their explosive chemistry is stronger than ever. They come to a "just sex while there is a hurricane going on the agreement." But there is so much more to their actions.

Unpacked pasts lure old fears and never-healed wounds. Here is where Eliza Peake's brilliance shines: she created a well-rounded story with great character development. This story has so much depth, even when it takes place in a couple of days. Plus, Cape Sands and its inhabitants are the cherry on the cake.

This book brings Eliza Peake's writing full circle. A previous version (shorter and inside a world created by other authors) is the first book I read by the author. So I enjoyed it immensely going back and reading this revised and improved story.

A second chance. Mine forever, but not necessarily forever mine.
Their first romance was ten years ago, their second was four years ago. Neither times ended well. As once friends may not now be the case; a lot has happened in between and things have not settled well. Unfinished business runs deep.
Eden seeks out Chase's help, as a guest speaker for a prestigious event she is running. Her business is at stake.
Chase's welcome was far colder than she had hoped for. His past certainly dictates his life now but the one constant he holds on to is her..constantly in his thoughts.
The storyline has plenty to keep the reader interested. The characters have their strengths, weaknesses fears and flaws. A deep lasting love lies beneath their hardened exteriors and life has worn them both down, making them wary in different ways.
Guilt lies heavily on Chase and he harbours shame and secrets behind it all. There is a lot of forgiveness and forgiving. He laid his wife to rest. Now it is time for Chase to lay his ghosts also. His career ending was unfortunate and media reporting were brutal. I would have liked to see that there was some effort to rectify the wrongs said about him and for the truth to finally come out.
The only negative thing about this book is that I prefer a more traditional cover version. Having received an advanced copy in return for an honest review, but under regular circumstances I may have passed over this book because of the more comic style cover, which would have been a mistake as I enjoyed reading it.

This was a 4.5 stars. I loved this book so much. It starts off so strong with Eden having an awful day. Things only seem to escalade from there. When her only option is to reach out to an ex for help, her desperation overtakes any doubts she has. As we read on and see how much history these characters truly have, it gets pretty intense.

Chase is a former baseball player and Eden knows just how to track him down. Her quest to get Chase to agree to her favour has a large amount of obstacles she has to face. She really puts her personal feelings on the back burner to save her company. Forced proximity is one of my absolute favorite tropes and this one did not disappoint. The sparks that fly between these two main characters are impossible to miss. The side characters were so impactful in this story, I really found most of the characters loveable. I hope to read more of this series.

It's always fun when I see setting I am familiar with and have seen. Also, the angst is chefs kiss!

Just perfect for a bastard like me who isn’t fit for love of any kind.

Evidently, I’m the sadistic type that enjoys playing with fire and therefore finds his hard lines to be droolworthy.

Not only do I not have a paddle for shit creek, I don’t even have a canoe.

But trust is a high-dollar commodity that is easy to lose and hard to win. It was a difficult lesson I’d had to learn.

4.25 stars. Eden and Chase, the lead characters, were a couple in college, parting ways when Chase followed his baseball career whilst Eden stayed to care for her terminally ill mother. The next time they interacted was at the funeral of Chase’s wife, where they had an unintended night together before Eden refused to respond to Chase’s messages.

Now, four years later, Eden owns an event planning business and one keynote speaker is hospitalised and unable to assist. Chase meets her criteria, and he is available, but he’s definitely not interested. Eden goes to see him in person and gets caught in a hurricane at Chase’s house. Whilst the feelings they have for each other remain real, there’s a lot of other baggage that they’re both carrying. Are they now at the point where they can have an actual relationship?

This story is dual POV, well written and edited, and a sweet and steamy, contemporary, forced proximity romance. I empathised with both lead characters’ concerns, and especially Chase’s fears. I enjoyed Eden’s willingness to reach out and take risks. I enjoyed Chase’s dawning awareness of the intensity of his own emotions. I enjoyed their steamy intimate scenes, and the enjoyment they found in each other. I enjoyed the integrated secondary characters.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

This is only the second book I’ve read from Eliza but I can easily see her becoming one of my go to authors in the contemporary romance genre for a sweet & quick read. Mine Forever, like Unexpected Forever, hooks you in with characters you can’t help but instantly be intrigued by. (I have a note about 1% in that says ‘Eden is a MOOD’ and she was!)

In all honestly this was very predictable but I was so entertained it didn’t take away from my enjoyment at all. This is a second chance romance that follows Eden and Chase who for mysterious reasons (revealed later) left things on bad terms years ago with both still holding feelings of resentment and longing for each other. Naturally after years of silence, Eden seeks out Chase due to a business situation and tries to convince him to help save her business…. You see where this is going *wink wink* 👀

Second chance romances in general are my favorite because of the constant tension between the characters but the premise of being stuck together in one house that also only happens to have one bed (DO YOU SEE WHY I WAS SO GIDDY?!) because of a hurricane genuinely had me obsessed that I couldn’t put this down.

Was this perfect? No, I think the characters and past events should’ve been fleshed out more but this was a really quick and fun read that kept me hooked and thoroughly entertained!

Mine Forever is the second book in the Cape Sands series.

𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬:
Second Chance
Forced Proximity
Small Town Romance
Ex-baseball player
Enemies to Lovers
Possessive Hero

The story revolves around Chase and Eden.

Chase is a reluctantly retired baseball player who is struggling with the past. Below his gruff exterior, lies a heart of gold.

Eden is a non-nonsense business woman. However, due to an accident involving the head note speaker at her very important charity event, she finds herself in desperate need of a replacement. Unfortunately, the only suitable candidate also happens to be her college ex.

Desperate to save her business, Eden decides to pay a visit to her ex to ask him to rescue her.

Although Chase initially denies her request, they find themselves held captive in his home due to an impending hurricane, which affords Eden more time to convince him to help.

The explosive attraction between these two is only rivaled by the hurricane they are trapped by. Can they overcome heartache from the past to forge a new future? After all, everyone deserves a second chance, especially when it comes to love.

If you want an easy, second chance trope, full of steam and an HEA, this book is definitely for you.

This was a beautiful, bittersweet journey back to one another. These two are so very far from over. They just need to manage a few minefields to get there yet again.

For Chase, life altering events lead to the implosion of forever. Walking away from the love of his life wasn't an easy decision, but one made none the less and he's spent years living in the misery of it all, despite the fame & fortunes that came along with those decisions.

One moment in time changes everything & four years after a volatile reunion, Eden & Chase come face to face once more. Sparks are flying between these two from the very start & not necessarily the good kind. Underneath the hurts & broken hearts stand walls so high, one good shake is all it takes to make them crumble to the ground.

These two are like moths to a flame. Eden is the balm to Chase's battered soul, but will he reach out and accept what is freely given, or will deep seeded doubts and insecurities have him walking away from forever yet again?

You'll find yourself drawn in and rooting for these two from the very start, as they navigate through trust and healing.
