"...a really an excellent follow up and tie in with 'My Time Again' "
(Reviews from readers on amazon.com)
Following his first time-travel adventure (described in the novel 'My Time Again') raham Henderson is looking forward to resuming a quiet life with family and friends.
He decides to tie up a loose end, and contacts the scientist who inadvertently caused the adventure to let him know about the unforeseen consequences of his experiment.
He is not sure if his offer will be welcomed and intends to continue with everyday life. However, the scientist is interested in whether this unexpected side effect of his experiment could help solve a tricky problem.
He agrees to meet Graham - and another intriguing adventure begins.
Sorry to say this book was not for me ,to much debating with main character over what he was going to do and found a laborious and longwind struggle to stay with the plot .maybe the editor took a day off cos it seems so much unnecessary waffle
Even less time travel aspects and no plot progression
Well, I went into the second book of the series with hopes of the time travel part of the story progressing. It did not. While this novel was a fairly passable spy/love story mashup, the time travel part was incidental and basically moved nowhere from where it was left at the end of the first story. I was pretty disappointed to hit the end of the ebook with no advancement of what I consider to be a fundamental issue. Because I am an eternal optimist with Kindle Unlimited, I’m going to work through the third in the series, but my expectations are considerably lowered at this point.
I got all the way to 60% but then it became too much. Rather than this being a book about time travel, its focus seemed to me to be the author trying to get his political opinions across to his readers. Everything from Brexit, the government's handling of the pandemic, and rule breakers during the pandemic etc.. We now all know his opinion. But I didn't want to know! I wanted an interesting sequel to 'My Time Again.' This was not that! I would have given 1 star for the story, but because he is actually a good writer I have given 3.
Ian Cummins has, (to use an American Baseball analogy), knocked this one out of the park! I didn’t leave a review for the first book as I was too anxious to read this sequel, but it was truly brilliant as well. The story telling and character development by this author is masterful and highly entertaining. Rarely am I as satisfied at the ending of a novel! Bravo Mr Cummins!
It took some pages before I realized this was not the first book of a series and the story stalled for me. Then the plot was revealed and it became a new twist in the genre. The author seems to be a Brit but could be a German, confusing me, a Yank, with only a single trip to England 20 years ago. Finally, I caught up and enjoyed the ride. Well, I’m an old fella and easily confused. Maybe I need to undergo a shot from the Prof and return to my youth.
Just as good as My Time Again, this follow on book would work well as a stand-alone story but is all the better when you know the main characters already as well as the detailed back story.
Further adventures in Time Travel, Yes but it's not that simple as the travelling is now done with a specific purpose.
Graham time travels again. This is a clever story and although it goes back over the pandemic and how he has to set up the funds for a comfortable second life there is a plot. Glad I stuck with it although the ending was an obvious one. Makes me wonder if we are going to hear from Graham again.
Went to after finishing the first ook of series. Loved so much about both books. The characters were so real, time travel concept was solid and best was the storyline was fresh. Reminded me of one of my favorite authors Jack Finney.
This is another clever take on time travel. It defies all your notions of how it might be done. But it does take into account what we think might be the consequences of time travel.
