For years, Cuith had an esteemed position in a great house; a ward, Whit, who loved him; a powerful family who called him their own. And his closest friend in the world—beautiful, tender-hearted Fianna—was more than happy to fall into bed with him at the end of a hot marsh day.
Then, without warning, Fianna left him.
A decade later, Fianna's absence grown too much for Cuith to bear, he rides north to find his friend on the vast and mysterious Highmire, where Fianna now serves as a one who performs the funeral rites of landed women, who keeps the sacred bog and stewards its ghosts.
He does not know what he will find there, but he must see Fianna again. He must know for certain if the love that once existed between them still draws breath, or whether it has sunk into the fathomless waters, dead and gone.
Holy shit what a read! I was lucky enough to be able to read this before publishing and I loved it so much. Connecting to Cuith and Fianna's story was so lovely, I love these guys!! I actually haven't read Green Grow the Rushes yet and reading this made me need to do that even more
Whew it’s been a while since a book has made me cry but wow that was lovely and bittersweet. I loved the vibes so much and the world building was incredible!!! I can’t tell which book in this collection(?) is my favourite but oh wow they’re both lovely.
