This was pretty good. It moved way too fast and didn't develop any part of the story, so I'm giving it a lukewarm reception here. The characters were either body count victims or random residents of the setting, Blythe, and there were angry geese waging war. That really was all there was in here. I definitely feel like if Jerry Blaze romanced this a lot more, it would have made it a better experience. Even the ending, which was not at all what I expected, was good, but didn't have the proper impact due to the pacing issues and lack of context for everything. Still a fun way to kill twenty minutes, but far from Blaze's best.

I’m already scared of geese (why are they always so angry and mean?!) and this story didn’t help with that fear. If you aren’t phobic of these oversized birds, then this story may just change your mind.

As a wilderness reserve is disturbed by construction, the horde of geese from a nearby lake search for new territory… and the town of Blythe seems perfect. They just have to kill off the current human residents.

This was a nightmare of a story with extreme violence to and from these avian killers.

“These geese are different, they’re wild, they’re deadly and they don’t know how to stop killing.”

Jerry always manages to make me laugh while simultaneously scaring the shit out of me 😂

This was a honking good time, indeed! Geese get their revenge in the small town of Blythe after their habitat is destroyed along with their food supply.

If you love horror and comedy then this will be an easy 5 star one read sitting for you! Highly recommend!

Geese. I have had my fair share of encounters with geese. They can definitely be scary in large groups, which brings us to today's review.

Imagine if all the geese decide to take revenge on humans for destroying their habitats. That's just what happened in the town of Blythe, Minnesota. Holden Construction wins a bid to build a resort in an area filled with wild life. Little do they know all hell is about to break loose. The geese want blood, and they are going to get it one way or another.

Once again, Jerry Blaze delivers the goods with this blood-soaked tale, filled with humor and gore. If you have never read him, this is a great place to start. If you have read him, then you know when it comes to storytelling, Blaze delivers big stories in little packages.

Grab a copy and enjoy. You'll never look at geese the same way again.

What started as my wet dream of a B horror movie involving a Goosepocalypse, ended in a dreary description of a believable apocalypse. With interesting and lovable characters, as well as descriptive gore, this is a must read for splatterpunk fans who love blood, guts, and psychopathic geese.

follow the bloody, webbed prints and see where they lead you…

If you're looking for something short & and nasty, this is the one to grab! Definitely one you can finish in one sitting, if that's what you're looking for.

If I were in this one, I don't think I would make it. I'd see the goslings and I'd be a goner.

In the charming town of Blythe, a new resort is coming to town. But not all of the “residents” are happy about the new addition. This is what happens when we push mother nature to her breaking point.
Regular geese are territorial enough, but these guys are a little extra. Listen for the Honks!

Can you make it through “The Honkening”?!

Absolutely loved that one of the characters Jassie was based off me! As soon as he wrote it I read it! I loved the unique storyline as a whole city is running from violent geese. The whole story made me giggle at times and was like ewwww I can picture that 😂 this author has a way of describing things very well!

One of my favorite comedy horror books to date. I mean, come on, killer geese that rip people to shreds?! And I loved the characters, well the ones that lived anyways. I mean, after what happened ya really can’t blame the geese for retaliating like they do. Respect nature or that bitch may come for you. Loved it!

I was expecting silly and somehow this was so violent, so gory, gross and so good.
We all know geese can be vicious but damn! There were inventive kills, post apocalyptic vibes and a kickarse rabbi. What more could we want?

Geese. Shudder. If you know, you know. Animal splatter punk at its finest. It is exactly what you expect it to be, and if you are like me, a quick, fun romp through purple goose shite.

KILLER. GEESE. APOCALYPSE!!!

When a construction incident accidentally upsets and unleashes the anger of hundreds of thousands of violent, sharp-billed geese, what's a small town to do?!

Very bloody, very brutal, with no meanness in the characterization, Blaze has written a rollicking, action-packed story that is at times humorous and horrifying.

One of the first stories in a long time where there was one character in particular I absolutely did not want to die! The crafting of the plot and organization of characters really puts you in the story and makes you hope the band of protagonists survive the decimation of the town.

Completely loved this one, and makes me even more terrified of geese now. Recommended to anyone looking for a blockbuster of a novel.

If you take this book with a punch is salt you’ll enjoy it. Like a low budget horror movie that ends up delivering on comedy value. I enjoyed the premise of the story though the writing style at times seemed a little confused. Formal in some places but in others super informal. The geese strike back!

Graciously given a chance to read this via the author. In and of itself, a gonzo story that is gory, funny, and outrageous. Would make a great modern indie horror movie, like Zombeavers. There were some grammatical errors that gave me pause a couple times, but it was a fun afternoon read.

This had a TON of potential. Who wouldn't want to read an extreme horror book about geese? That sounds like a recipe for AWESOME, right? Unfortunately, it missed the mark. Aside from the fact that a simple proofread could have solved a whole lot of errors, it just fell flat.

3.5 stars out of 5.

This was a fun and gory silly goose story.

This was a quick and action packed story, I actually would have liked it to have slowed down a little with a bit more detail, but overall it was a lot of fun, and I will check out his other books.

Jerry Blaze is an absolute master of the short story. Once again writing absolute carnage and mayhem into a non stop book. Killer geese, murder and chaos. Another great little novella

This was absolutely ridiculous. I loved it.
Geese are pretty scary birds anyway. Its like James Herbet's The Rats but this time it's geese so infinitely scarier yet very very funny. Loved it.

Next time I’ll go to the park I will remember this book.

We all know the impact that construction has when it comes to nature and this time they mess up with the wrong crew and after disturbing a lake nearby the construction site, the geese are coming to get them… and everyone else in this town. After all they now need a new home.

Funny enough, I’m afraid of birds. Somehow my brain decided that if there’s a beak there’s danger! But this book is just as silly as it is gory. A slasher with killer geese! Do I need to say more?

It's like watching a cheesy 'B' horror movie full of shlocky goodness. The writing could definitely use editing but this was still hilarious in its absolute ridiculousness. Not great but entertaining nonetheless.
