Refreshingly simple, surprisingly moving, this tale portrays the early days of Western Canadian settlement in vivid detail. Through the eyes of an observing narrator, this story shows us the struggle and ultimate triumph in grappling with our humanity and forming a community. Indirectly, it also provides insight into the experiences, lifestyle and mindsets of early pioneers.
