The empty bottle lay on the floor; Bobbi Cochran was sprawled out right beside it, feeling the life slowly seep out of her body. Bobbi closed her eyes as the memory of that terrible day tried to invade her thoughts. That was then, this is now, she thought, looking around the crowded plane that was preparing for takeoff. Her purse sat next to her as the aircraft continued on down the runway, taking her to a new start in California and leaving behind Jo, their breakup and the friend turned whore she'd caught him with.
Smirking to himself, Donovan McCall walked briskly to his car. He’d just left behind the woman whose name he couldn’t remember, leaving no sign to her of where he had gone to in the middle of the night. Women had always fallen victim to his manipulation and charm, beckoning to his every call and whim; Donovan took great pride in this. He knew he had every woman he came in contact with figured out to a science; that was until he crossed paths with a woman named Bobbi Cochran. She made everything he had known and grown so accustomed to, no longer make sense.
I enjoyed this book. The author wrote the book from two different perspective which I really enjoyed. You got to know how both main characters, Bobby and Donovan, felt throughout the book. The story line really drew me in. She put other people in the love story and that made the ending unpredictable. The story is of a guy that’s afraid to love but then a girl comes along an dives him no other choice but to love her. Really get story.
I really liked this story but I had a hard time reading through the slang and found myself skimming through some of the story because it was too much. Bat the end of the day I enjoyed the story.
.......ish got real when Donovan chose the song "Love" by Musiq Soulchild on Bobbi's iphone. That was one of my favorite parts in the book. Their connection could truly be felt. The love and passion that was between them was intense. This was an amazing book. I loved it from beginning to end. I was in my feelings quite a bit. I almost lost hope because Bobbi and Donovan just could not get it right. When he was ready, she was not and vice versa. I was really upset with Donovan after the Musiq Soulchild part....smh. I would love to read more about Don and Bobbi. Awesome job, Tiffany Campbell.
This was a great read. It was a breath of fresh air reading a romance novel where the main characters were young adults trying to find themselves and they find love in the process. There wasn't foul language, drug dealers, nor extreme sex scenes with multiple pregnancies. I liked how the characters were relatable. Good job.
Omg this book was so good. I loved the whole storyline. I loved both Donavan and Bobbi and I think they was good for each other. I hope the author write more books.
This book rub me a bit the wrong. The constant back and forth. The fact Don would not fight but rather sleep with someone else. I was mad with him most of the time just for being an ass for taking the easy way out instead of fighting for the one you love.Just not what I thought this book would be.
It was a good story. I wasn't happy about the MCs having sex with everyone but each other until they got it right but I guess it sometimes happens that way. I just think it should've probably been off page.
The other problem I had was the dialogue. I'm an African American myself and I DO NOT TALK LIKE THAT!! I understand some people do but not EVERY SINGLE person you know. Everyone in this book talked the same including the friends, parents and professionals. I kept thinking, "I don't talk like that!" I felt like I was reading chat speak or the author was trying to hard. It kept pulling me away from the story. Everyone was talking like they shared the same damn brain cell. I kind of felt offended a little bit while reading it.
Once I got passed that and just ignored it I was able to actually enjoy the story. This is the reason it only gets 2.5 stars from me.
This story was so freaking good, a little drawn out but I guess you needed that to really understand the basis of the relationship between Bobbi and Donovan. There were so many times when I was like just fall in love so the story can end, but then I couldn't get enough and wanted to read more.
I enjoyed the back story for both characters, you were able to get a glimpse of why they are how they are and reacted to certain situations. I wish I could've gotten more dialogue between Donovan and his father.
This book was so good, I kinda wish it was a movie...it would definitely be added to my collection .
