Donald Davis (born 1944) is an American storyteller, author and minister. Davis had a twenty year career as a minister before he became a professional storyteller. He has recorded over 25 storytelling albums and written several books based on those stories. His long career as a teller and his promotion of the cultural importance of storytelling through seminars and master classes has led to Davis being dubbed the "dean of storytelling".

oh, this was FUNNY. Such a fun reading of this little book - was it ever a book? or just a recording?

We have listened to most of the Donald Davis audio books available at our library. I like them because they are interesting to me and to Jay and the children. They are short, which makes them easy for car rides. These are good old-fashioned humorous stories about growing up. Donald Davis is a great story teller, and the material is clean.

Two very funny stories from one of my favorite storytellers.

In the first story, Davis tells of the extreme antics his eight-year-old self engaged in to try to avoid getting a typhoid shot.

In the second story, the six-year-old Davis has some confusion over some of the different ways the term, "take care of him," are used, and getting his tonsils removed.
