Our online school sent this CD as part of our history curriculum--and my girls really liked it. I appreciated the author's simple discussion about God speaking to the prophets in the OT, "We don't know if they heard a voice when God was speaking to them, or if it was a thought than came into their minds." I didn't always appreciate the author's somewhat inferior tone in referencing peoples other than the Isrealites, (like the Egyptians, who didn't know any better when they were worshipping more than one god.) I think it's important to teach that other people believe "differently", not worse than what we believe.
Weiss takes some liberties with the stories that I didn't quite expect. The storytelling was okay, though I'm not sure what all the hype is about. Maybe his American Tall Tales collection is better? That's the one I was looking for anyway. My four-year-old did ask for it again, which she doesn't do with audio books, though it might've been about playing with the CD player.
