I’m going to try to stay on the positive side while still making some criticism.
This book was FULL of information, like completely brimming with it. Multiple times I’ve tried finding science books that I find satisfying and not super biased. Pretty easy to understand but not overly simple. This one would probably be one of my top picks.
However.
Sometimes, well, a lot of times, I found myself lost. I could barely get through some of the Study Guides (especially that one about light) Maybe it’s just me but this book introduced some tough concepts.
I’m really hoping that it’s more of a foundation on which I’ll build on, kinda an intense introduction to Physical Science.
Overall this book was both torturous and intriguing. I guess I just had to hit the right points. I still love science and I do want to investigate into some of the topics the author breached. However I am pretty relived that I’ve finished this course.
Awful. Just awful. I'd like to say that I enjoyed this book, it would have been much more bearable if I had. Unfortunately, that was not the case. It was dry, repetitive, sometimes confusing, and (tragically) contained chemistry (which can't be helped considering it's physical science book but they could've made it more understandable) and many typos. One star might be a bit harsh but I can't bring myself to give it two.
I mean... it's a science textbook. Also, how dare goodreads not accept the 570 pages that are in this book!!! It says that this book has zero pages, and I can tell you for a fact it's not true! (Though I would have liked it better if it was zero pages)
Before taking this class, I adored science, I cannot say the same now. There were more typos in this book than there are in my 11 year old brother’s texts about dinner. Trying to understand what this book is saying is the equivalent of trying to go to bed after drinking a diet coke at 10 pm. I understand that no book is perfect but decent would be nice. I appreciated how everything related back to God, but reading the Old Testament would have been easier :)
