EndgameHawke's Domain - and all his friends and loved ones - have been dragged to a high-level Realm where giant monsters wander the land and life is brutal and cheap. To make matters worse, their closest neighbor is the Court of Thorns, who plan to spread Chaos and Undeath throughout the Realm. The newly-transplanted lands soon find themselves besieged by hordes of monsters. Hawke must brave the Scarlet Fang, a secret Challenge Dungeon, in order to find a way to save his Domain and people. Along the way, he will discover the truth behind the Realms and the Eternal Journey. This is the last book of the Eternal Journey, an epic LitRPG fantasy featuring action, combat, and progression.
C.J. discovered his obsession with making up crap and writing it down at the age of 6, when he wrote his first short story, back in the days when the Cold War was still on and the only mobile devices were the wrist watch and the walkie-talkie. He's been making up crap and writing it down for fun and profit ever since.
Sad stuff this. The author usually manages to balance things better(supplying somewhat fair reasoning) avoiding excessively contrived plot progression, deus ex machina and the use of idiot-sockpuppet character behaviour to progress the plot.
In this book though we are treated to excessive ooc behaviour and naive shit for brains cluelessness to a horrendous degree at several points mostly in the middle third of the book.
I nearly quit reading at the 57-58% mark due to it in combination with the fact that the text is riddled with so many errors that suggest this book wasn't properly edited prior to publication.
