The world is in dire need of change. People are hurting. People are turning to empty promises searching for answers. All along, we have the answer: Jesus
In Holiness Revolution, your eyes will be awakened to the need for change in this world. You will be challenged to live a life of radical discipleship that brings that change. It's time to stop making excuses and start taking action.
"Only from God, only from the saints, does true revolution come."— Benedict XVI
A more accurate title would be "a beginners guide to theocratic fascism".
Starting out with deep historical revisionism, Dan claims that the slave owning founders of the US would be appalled at how we are "enslaved" today. Claiming that sexual liberation is slavery, unlike the colonialists, who violently upheld strict racial hierarchy with black slaves at the bottom.
He fabricates statistics about teen issues, as well as data about abortions.
On page 17 Dan describes who he believes to be the enemy, this includes lgbt people, non Christians, women who divorce their abusive husbands, and those who have sex.
On that same page, Dan advocates "raising arms" against this enemy. On page 19 he quotes (Matthew 10:32) advocate bringing the sword to these enemies.
Shortly put, Dan is advocating for violence against non Christians, lgbt people, and women.
This book was certainly intended for a younger audience, although its message holds true regardless. It was a stirring read, one that can't fail to leave a person with a commitment to do better in some way. The two times he referenced non-Biblical history, he was factually inaccurate, which was distracting to me; they were however, and his point was clear (and would have been clear without the historical references).
Dane DeMatte has a true gift for inspiring and setting a holy fire ablaze in the soul of the reader. Every chapter contains practical advice for spreading the Catholic faith to becoming a better version of yourself. At the end of each chapter there are challenge steps which show practical (can challenging ways) to action the topics talked about. DeMatte writes in a manner that is easily comprehended, but he also has an uncanny ability to strike to the heart. I was truly inspired by the book, and it left a positive impact.
Very relevant for the current climate surrounding life as a Catholic. Interesting ideas. Somewhat written for a younger audience, but easy reading steeped with energy and youthful enthusiasm.
