I don't have the exact edition listed, mine exclusively deals with pregnancy. I'm finding the layout of this book much more user friendly than the typically touted "What to Expect When You're Expecting" format. I find that I excitedly open the next chapter as my pregnancy progresses, literally a week by week guide to what I am going through, also packed with useful information ranging from FMLA to common symptoms/problems experienced by other women.
My sole critique of this book, so far (I've only read through 19 weeks at this point) is it's hetero-normative approach. My ideal pregnancy book is inclusive of all families, not just those with a mom and a dad.

Fun to read during pregnancy - especially to go through each week with Dad. Has drawings of how big the baby is, how the baby is growing relative to your belly. We made a ritual of sitting together and reading the pertinent parts out loud every week.
The organization is a little odd- hints about dealing with 1st trimester nausea are in week 27's chapter, info on twins is randomly placed... but a fun guide as you go through a pregnancy.

I liked the format of this book and I found the information helpful. It covers in good detail test that you may have done during your prenatal period. It's easy to read and has some tips for dad that are nice. There are a few things mentioned later in the book that I feel would be better addressed earlier. For example, nutritional info and medications taken during pregnancy should all be covered very early, not in the second trimester. I have not read Your Baby's First Year yet.

This is a great way to get information about your pregnancy as fast or as slow as you like. I usually just read the chapter that corresponds with the week of my pregnancy. The author includes information about developments in pregnancy for that week, but also general information about pregnancy. It is a good way to get information without being bogged down reading a lot at one time.

I really liked this book, a lot better than What to Expect. It had much more medical advice as opposed to random information here & there. Although some of the chapters made no sense (like talking about having multiples in Week 31-um I would hope one would know they were having twins well before that)

I am enjoying the week by week play by play of what to expect and how the little one is developing. It has provided great tips for all the not-so-fun first semester issues. Looking forward to reading week 12 next week.

I felt that the week by week organization was better for little reads here and there. Very good daddy tips as well.

Seems to focus a LOT on all of the bad things that can happen but I love the week by week format and it is extremely comprehensive.

Had to stop reading this book. Found it too negative when it comes to giving birth and very medical. Not my taste.
