As readers of the series should be aware, this book is the first of a new section. The new pace makes for a quick and easy read. Despite the complexity of the plot and actions, it is extremely easy to follow. After 8 books of progress and new magic and new people, we've been prepared to just enjoy the clash of all these forces.
Overall, it feels game-like. It exemplifies the stop "pressing buttons on the controller" and start "controlling the character".
The only problem with this book is that it is one of two, so you are left on a cliffhanger, and there are no subsequent books yet. However, the new book is due in a few weeks, so at least it will not be for years. Like the title, this is all battle. Nothing else is going on, no dungeon diving, no world-building, fight after fight. While I wouldn't want every book to be like this, I enjoyed this book a lot, had a hard time putting it down, and can hardly wait for the next book.
Probably the best one yet! This one is full of action and it fills a lot of the plot points from book 1-8. The story is so descriptive it’s like watching a movie as you read. Another fantastic working from Aaron Renfroe!
Wow, dark. I really didn't see any hope for the "good guys" for the first 1/2 of the book, but of course it wasn't going to end like that after all the investment into Ty and his friends? Ends on a god-awful cliff-hanger, but the author promises Part 2 within the next month.
This was the culmination of the whole series and again, it goes up way up and then something happens, a narrative here, a thought there, and it dips again, but I would give this book a 4.5, when the excitement builds, it truly is something. Now to the last book of the series.
Another great addition to Renfroe's catalogue. Super excited for the next book. Binged the entire father of constructs series in a week to prep for this book.
A great book that's in keeping with the whole series, making you wait In happy anticipation of what comes next. Yet another amazing triumph for the author :-).
