I've said it before and I'll say it again. I have an affinity for scary stories. And thanks to The Walking Dead, I really enjoy zombie stories. I think because I'm more scared of zombies than any other monster or spook (except for demons), tales about them are particularly fun because I actually get scared. I know it sounds like I'm rambling, but I have very strong, very mixed feelings towards zombies.
This collection of stories of the undead is the perfect read for your late, stormy night of fright. Or any night, really. There is no wrong time for zombies. My favorite stories, I have to say, were Prisoners of Forever by Katie Jones and The Meat Lover's Special by Miracle Austin. Both sent actual shivers down my spine.
I haven't read a whole lot of zombie fiction (again, I mostly get my fill from The Walking Dead), but this book made me want to read more. Congratulations to all the authors on their delightfully frightening work.

Not gonna lie, not all stories here are great, but a bunch of them are. Having this book ve an anthology of various authors around a trope we have seen a million times it's kind of ballsy. The problems this book have is that we know most of this situations. We all know that that guy walking funny towards our character will soon be trying to chew his or her neck off. That makes the stories with elements we've already seen pretty lame. But, those who manage to spin a new twist on the genre are great ones. My favorite, BY FAR is The Zombie Appeal. It has a really clever premise. What happens when you mix the living dead with courtroom bureaucracy. If you think of a pretty hilarious and surreal story you are not wrong.
