Lycanthrope, Van Harper, was supposed to be flying below the radar to protect his secret vigilante identity. But, when a sexy female mage gate-crashes his world, and kisses him to distraction, there's no denying their chemistry. With the line between his covert and public lives suddenly blurred, Van must decide if falling in love is one complication too many.

*This is the prequel for the series, and is therefore a novella. The rest of the books in the series will be full length novels.

New Series

Evander is a lycan shifer. He works at a tech store. While working his mundane job he encounters a 'smash and grab' robbery. He mets a mage named Cinnamon, or Cinny. She saves his life. This was a fun read. Urban Shifters is a new series prequel. I can't wait for more.

get ready for a quickly

This action filled story starts with a robbery and leads to more problems but for Cinny and Van, the fun is just beginning. Fun banter and a host of siblings. Should be a great series.

A great prequel

Yes, I would definitely enjoy the series that comes out of this. Great writing and the sibling names are cute without being silly and overdone.

URBAN SHIFTER IS A MUST-READ PREQUEL!

Seriously, I have just finished URBAN SHIFTER from Author Johanna M. Rae, and I'm ready for the next one.

I LOVED IT!!!! It's paranormal action, suspense, witty sarcastic humour and some romance encased between book covers that just beckon you to read it, and I'm telling you that if you're a lover of Urban Fantasy Shifters, then read it you must!

Van Harper, the first of the Epwell Vigilante crew we met, worked in a Tech Store and was forced into a Clark Kent-ish type persona by his narrow minded boss in an effort to seem like a more knowledgeable and approachable tech nerd, but as Cinny found out during the course of a dangerous ram raid on the store, beneath the clothes was a herculean type of god, all tattoo covered washboard abs and broad of shoulders, ***please excuse me, I am literally wiping my chin here*** because the man is a sexy beast, and bonus for us shifter lovers, he's wolf type of sexy beast!!!
Ms Rae’s trademark humour and witty banter between the guys just flowed naturally as they all balanced full-time jobs with their second job of being a vigilante, meaning each of these guys contribute with their unique gifts to make their crew balance and effective, and, they were not above playing practical jokes on each other.

It was this aspect that took URBAN SHIFTER from being a good read into the realms of guaranteed great reading.

Mage, Cinnamon Edwards, was a woman who detested being told what to do, until the day she met Van during that ram raid at the tech store. Suddenly common sense was out the window while sensuality made itself known to her. There was something about him that drew her in and made her want to risk her own safety to help save him in a medical event, and put some trust into those she'd already realised were the Epwell Vigilante Crew. Turned out, she not only gate-crashed Van's life, but the whole crew’s as well! The written chemistry between them fairly emanated from the virtual pages and again, the humour, never far from the surface didn't ever let them rest of the laurels of privacy 🤣

And while this is a novella, there is so many links and twists, it felt like so much more than that. Ms Rae has whet my appetite and d@mmit, I'm sooooooo hungry for more!! 😋 Those vigilantes were all kinds of hotness personified, or should I say objectified!?! Because she’d written them to be objects of every reader’s fantasy, seriously.

What can I say? I'm rapt to have finally read this book, but now I'm sad I don't have the next one to be going on with! Never mind though, Ms Rae has another 5-book Shifter series that I'm going to start re-reading. Let me tell you now though, 5-vigilante-shifter-Stars just does not do URBAN SHIFTER a justice. It's a book you need to be reading!
