I’ve only read a handful of YA novels and this was definitely different, in the best way!!

I love how unique this read was! The Spanish to English translations were awesome, you don’t see that often in books.
The dynamic between the characters has me laughing and swooning! The love triangle?! Excuse me 🫠
This read was so easy to follow and left you wanting more!
Can’t wait for book 2!!

If you want to diversify your bookshelf then this is the perfect book for you!

Thank you Roxana for this amazing opportunity to read your debut book!

First and foremost I love being able to see myself in characters the Spanish background was so relatable. I absolutely loved reading the Spanish language on paper with the translations.
This book was fueled with all things sci-fi and fantasy between our world and others! I love when the words on the pages create visuals, it was like I was was experiencing the same worlds as Luna!
I loved loved the love story between Luna’s parents and her own. The love story was so delicately written for a YA book!!
The ENDING!!! Let me tell you that I was shocked, stunned and so ready for the next book. The way everything tied together was amazing! I love when books are all things suspense and excitement! I can’t wait for the world to meet Luna!

First of all, I would like to thank the lovely Roxana Macias for allowing and trusting me to be an arc reader for this book. 😊 If you love YA books with clean romance, aliens, science fiction, love triangles, friends to lovers, surprise pregnancy, multiple worlds + multi pov, then this might be the book for you! Things I specifically loved about this book are the fact that it showcases a bilingual fmc and an interracial relationship as well. I myself being exactly the same, found a piece of myself in Eveley ❤️ Aiden, her friend and love interest is a very charming, sweet, golden retriever type, he can also be very protective over her when he needs to be. This book goes into huge detail when it comes to Eveley's family and culture. The first half of this book focuses on her background, her parents' background, and why Eveley is going through what she does in the second half. I love that the aliens here aren't the mainstream ones 👽 Some are describes as kind of human looking but futuristic, others can't even be seen, and some are evil and strange looking 👀 Loved the Parallel worlds...that was such a big twist towards the end. Now for the only thing I would have liked to see more of: the aliens overall, but after reading the second half and finding out it's a trilogy I understand there will probably be a lot more alien action throughout the other 2 books 📖 overall I'm giving this book a 5 ⭐️ It takes a lot of talent to write a book this well on a first try!

I was fortunate enough to read an ARC copy of this YA debut novel. The story itself was intriguing, following Eveley and her family across the span of her life, from two years old to twenty-two years old. We get a glimpse of her parent’s love story, follow her growing up over the years and a detailed look at her relationship with the charming boy next door.

On top of this, we have a sci-fi element with aliens, a mysterious accident, and a voice only Eveley can hear. There is also a romance aspect with a beautifully written friends-to-lovers relationship.

It did take me a little while to fully engage with this story, but once it got going I struggled to put it down. It ended up being a wild ride, with so many things going on by the end of the story. It will be interesting to see what happens in the rest of the trilogy.

I also appreciated the inclusion of name pronunciations in the footnotes and the in-text translations of the Spanish and Irish words. This made it much easier to read without having to pause and look up translations constantly considering the majority of the characters were bilingual.

I read an ARC of Luna’s Edge by Roxanne Macias. The story is intriguing and a fun YA fiction novel. It has a great story line and pulls you into the story of Eveley from the very beginning. She has to fight against evil forces from outer space and manage to find a way to also keep her family and friends safe also.

First of all, I love that Ms. Macias is represents her culture by using both Spanish and English phrases. It is not often that two languages are represented in a book and I love it. Also I love the story of Eveley and her family fighting against dark forces from the outer worlds and her experiences along the way. The descriptions of Eveley being transported to a different space and time are beautifully illustrated and pulls you into her experience. Here is an example:
“In a millisecond she felt a chill go through her body like a bolt of lightning.” Page 9
The author’s descriptions are detailed and help immerse the reader into Eveley’s world and the storyline. There are also nice details regarding her family and how everyone is affected by these forces including her father’s disappearance.

We are also introduced to a friends to lovers storyline between Eveley and her longtime friend Aidan. They grow up and find comfort and love in each other. This is a sweet part of the book. The following quote captures their growth and coming of age feelings for each other.
“They were both growing and maturing like wildflowers in a field. For some reason he no longer wanted to hide his feelings. He gently grabbed her hand, she didn't protest nor pull away.” Page 104

Overall I am very pleased that I was able to read this debut novel from Roxanne Macias and look forward to reading more from her and the adventures of Eveley in the future.

First of all I would like to thank Roxana for giving me the opportunity to read your debut novel. This was an enjoyable read to me and I was hooked from chapter 1 🩷 This review is entirely voluntary.

I’ve never really been a big fan when it comes to reading sci-fi or anything to do with aliens but this has proved me wrong and has completely changed my views on this type of book genre 😍

The storyline had been amazing from start to finish and I loved the fact that the author had plugged in a chapter of the characters being in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿(my hometown 🫶). The other good thing I liked about this book was the translation next to the Spanish words, it was so much easier for me to read without having to google translate what the words meant and I don’t think I have ever came across something like this. I remember I had to google some Spanish words when I was reading The Spanish Love Deception and it was frustrating at times 😅

The romance between Aidan and Eveley is to die for! Reading through the book I had imagined I was Eveley 😂 I wish to have a guy like Aidan in my life haha! Also I did not see that ending to happen, totally surprised me but I was very satisfied with the ending. Honestly throughout the entire book, I thought I was in a sci fi movie or something! I definitely cannot wait for the next book to come out now.

If aliens, multiple worlds, friends to lovers and dystopian future is your thing then I would highly recommend giving this a read 😊

Thank you so much to the author for giving me the opprtunity to read and review an early copy in exchange for an review!
This was an amazing read and I was hooked from page 1. I don't read a lot of YA but I really enjoyed this one. It was science fiction, full of cool aliens, had multi worlds, and had an adorable friends to lovers romance. I also loved the representation of a Latina fmc and an interracial relationship. I cannot wait for the next one to come out!

The multiple pov’s had me confused at times but I was able to figured it out. There’s a different flow to the story.

I received an ARC of Luna's Edge from Roxana Macias and I am beyond grateful that she trusted me enough to review it. This was such a cute debut YA novel. My choices in books tend to lean toward more adult themes, but every once in a while, I like to dip my toes back into the YA genre. If for no other reason than so when my 16-year-old niece asks me for some book recommendations, I have some that I know she will like. I can definitely say that this will be one I will be pressuring her to read in the near future so that we can discuss.
This story is about Evely Luna. I would like to give a general overview about why this story is being told, but the blurb provided probably does that best. My thoughts are all over the place and I would not be able to break the synopsis down as well. I will say that, to me, the description of the story that I read is just a tiny drop of everything we learn about Evely. I love that, don't get me wrong. There are countless books that I have read, and connected with, that I wish I could have known more about. I like meeting main characters at that pivotal moment in their life when their story is just taking off, but I also want to know all the details of how they got to that point. I really got that in this book. We initially meet Evely at a certain age when something climactic happens to her, but then the author transports us back in time to how her story really got started. Almost butterfly effect (*cough cough* dragonfly effect? lol)ish. We see some of the very first events to happen around Evely that lead us to her experiencing this climactic even when she is 20. Even now I feel like I am not explaining myself well but I dont want to give anything away. We meet 20 year old Evely. We go back to toddler/child Evely to see how it started. While I did enjoy getting this major backstory, at the 25% mark in the book...I had forgotten that I had already met her when she was older. I was so immersed, I forgot the tiny snippet I knew of adult Evely. That was a bit jarring to me. I dont know that I would change it, or that I disliked it, it was just jarring.

I also very much loved the Spanish language and culture inclusion. It seemed like some of the words and phrases were repeated occasionally but (seeing as this is a YA novel) I saw that as a good opportunity for readers to learn things they might have not known before. Everything talked about just felt very authentic and honestly...made me miss Texas lol.

Overall I enjoyed the book very much. At times I had also forgotten that this was a sci-fi book, but the aliens and other planet were so well written. I cannot wait to see how Roxana finishes up this story in the next books and will have my name at the top of the list to read those as well

💙💜 ARC REVIEW 💜💙

I would love to thank the lovely @roxanamacias_author
for allowing and trusting me to be an ARC Reader for her debut novel (though it didn't feel like her debut because this book was literally amazing) And the colours in her Cover , marvelous 💜💙💜💙💜💙

My Ratings : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

When Eveley Luna, a Hispanic girl next door, gets struck by lightning one fateful night, she realizes her life will never be the same. Suddenly blessed with healing powers and burdened with the enigmatic voice of an alien echoing in her mind, Eveley finds herself thrust into a world beyond her wildest imagination. My Thoughts: Loved every bit of this book , this book goes into huge details when it comes to Eveley's family and culture. The first half of this book focuses on her background, her parents' background and why Eveley is going through what she has done in the second half. The story is very intriguing, I was like what's gonna happen next, what's the ending, there were a lot of plot twists too. On top of this there were Aliens, sci-fi elements, different planets, parasites, and a voice only Eveley can hear. At first it was a bit off track for me to catch up because this was my first Science fiction but once the flow started it was a struggle for me to put it down. I literally devoured the book in 3 days... I also loved the friends to lovers clean romance and all the in-text Spanish translations she's done because it really helped in the flow of reading.
Captivatingly dreamy and exciting, Luna's Edge will awaken your wonder for the far reaches of our universe and our place among the star.

ARC Review

I first want to thank Roxana for allowing me to do my first ARC read ever. Grateful to be given the chance to dive into a whole new world.

I enjoyed the story of Eveley, the healer that the world needs but the government does not want around. I loved the friends-to-lovers trope between Aiden and Eveley. I had moments where I found myself kicking my feet and giggling. I didn't find it confusing to go back and forth from the flashbacks to the past and present.

I did find the whole parallel universe part to be predictable. I had a feeling when Eveley was in the coffee shop that it would be "another" Aiden coming out. And then the rest of the characters too. I wish there were some differences between the two Aidens so that Eveley didn't fall in love with him so fast (just another twist that would've been fun).

Now, I did feel like some of the chapters were too long and too wordy. Some sentences could've been taken out and as a reader would've still made sense. While I can see why others appreciate the translations in text, I didn't care for them or find it necessary. However, I am a native speaker so that could be why I felt they were unnecessary.

Overall great book, and I'm excited to see what happens to our girl Eveley next. That was more of a 4.5 out of 5 star read for me.

When I read the first chapter on the author’s website I became SO intrigued. If you know me, you know I am a fan of dual timelines so I loved that the story was set in the past and present (and on another planet!) of Eveley’s life. The villain being a constant presence that she always had to look over her shoulder for made me love the dire situation even more! I really liked that her family banded together to defeat the evil presence. Eveley was incredibly strong throughout the whole thing (and being some in an unknown planet!) all while never letting her kind heart falter.

I will say… the men in this book 💖. I cannot gush over Aidan O’Brien enough. He is an endless well of patience and pretty tough. Seeing his and Eveley’s love blossom from childhood into adulthood was so, very sweet. I wasn’t always a fan of friends-to-lovers but this year has really changed my tune and this book is a testament to that. HOWEVER, I will say, Aidan really made me mad when he thought distancing himself from Eveley would help her. Like, hello! No, it wouldn’t! But I am glad he saw the error of his ways and won her back. I will forever be sad about Pedro.

Planet Aeven was very cool and the twist with Cian was SO heart wrenching. But even then, he was so quick to help Eveley escape even if it meant he’d be in some major, intergalactic/governmental trouble. LAR was also a cool character. For a while I thought maybe he was the voice of Eveley’s father but I was pleasantly surprised by who he was. This book also has the pregnancy trope and I typically never gravitate toward that. But, the way it was done with Luna’s Edge had me pleasantly surprised and even thought it was a beautiful part of Eveley’s story.

💭 Luna's Edge is truly a remarkable book that exceeded all my expectations; it's nothing short of a masterpiece.

💭 I found myself laughing, captivated, and fully engaged with every conversation. Roxana has crafted the characters and settings with such precision that I could vividly picture everything in my mind. Her descriptive talent is extraordinary, and I encourage everyone to experience it firsthand.

💭 From the very first page, I was completely drawn in, a clear sign of a great read. I devoured this book, unable to tear myself away as the plot unfolded beautifully and kept me entertained. The pacing was perfect, especially in the final chapters, which left me wanting more.

💭 After finishing each chapter, I often found myself staring at the ceiling, trying to absorb all the revelations and emotions presented.

💭 Roxana's writing style is simply flawless; it had me laughing and gasping in surprise. The story unfolds at a perfect pace, allowing the characters to develop naturally. Her creativity shines through in the distinct worlds and narratives she has created, leaving me in awe.

💭 This is the first book in the series, and I can't wait to dive into the next two. I wholeheartedly recommend this read, whether you're a fan of the tropes depicted or not; it's an incredibly engaging and perfect experience.

Luna's Edge
By Roxana Macias

Themes:
👽 Sci-Fi
❤️‍🔥 Friends to Lovers
📖 Debut Author

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Luna's Edge blends sci-fi adventure with a heartfelt romance, making for a unique reading experience. The plot takes readers on a thrilling journey involving aliens and a race against time, with each action scene building the intensity. What truly sets this novel apart is its incorporation of Hispanic cultural themes, which adds depth and richness to the world-building.

I especially enjoyed the central romance. It was well-developed and provided an emotional core to the otherwise fast-paced, sci-fi-driven storyline. The book excels in merging romance with the intrigue of intergalactic tension. However, some chapters felt a bit unnecessary and slowed the pace of the overall narrative. Despite this, the action-packed scenes kept me engaged, and I found myself eagerly turning the pages to see how the characters would navigate their high-stakes challenges.

For fans of both science fiction and romance, Luna's Edge offers a fresh perspective with cultural flair and plenty of excitement.

I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have received an advanced copy of Luna’s Edge from the author!

Luna’s Edge was truly a masterpiece and I just loved everything about it. It was a combination of sci-fi, fantasy, aliens, dystopian future, and friends-to-lovers and since I love all of these things having them all combined together in this story was truly epic. I read the entire thing in one sitting because I was hooked from the beginning and just had to know what happened. The storyline was amazing and it was so cool how it went through Eveley’s life from when she was two years old up till twenty two years old. Another thing I really loved about the book is that the translation for the Spanish words was right next to the word. It was awesome because I didn’t have to put the book down to go search up what the word meant. Lastly, the romance in this story is absolutely incredible and it just made me smile so hard because it was so adorable. I want the next book immediately and can’t wait for it to come out.

Thank you Roxana for sending me a copy of your ebook for me to review!

I found this novel to be full of very likeable characters, Eveley and her mother Isabel especially were my favourite characters as they truly exemplified what it means to be a strong female. I also found this to be an extremely unique storyline, I have never read a novel with any of these plot points. It was also a very cozy read which I love in a fantasy book. You were definitely rooting for Eveley, Aiden, Isabel, and Eileen throughout. The love story between Eveley and Aiden is enough to give anyone the warm and fuzzies.

What held this book back for me was the lengthiness. I did feel that there were chapters that were used to create some character background or world building that were a bit unnecessary. Macias seemed to clean this up once Eveley went to Aeven but the Earth aspects dragged quite a bit. It took me a long time to get through the first 70% of this book but the last 30% was perfection.

I would absolutely read more from Roxana Macias.

Get ready for the ride and adventure of your Summer. Aveley and Aiden, what can this reader say? Except, wow and well done!!! This is a one day read with the reader staying up past their bedtime to finish this exciting story.

This is one of the most complete books I have had pleasure of reading in a very long time. I am impressed with the mixing of Cultures and how true love does not see color or language barriers. It just flows. This author has a unigue talent for teaching and entertaining her readers at the same time.

Roxana, even dips her toes in the AI water showing that Technology is a good thing, but too much Technology is dangerous for us as human beings. Again, this story is a page turner. You will not be able to put in down until you have finished the entire book.

But you will pick the book up again and start to re-read because the story is just that good. Thank you Voracious Readers Only and author for my free copy of this fantastic story.

Thank you Roxana for allowing me to read and advanced copy of your debut Novel. This was such an amazing read for me.

From the start of the book I was intrigued with the Sci-Fi element of the Story. It was a roller-coaster from her parents love story to her own.
The whole book was full of action and tension.

The friends to lovers was so cute and shows us unconditional love and friend ships.

I felt understood with the perspective of the other worlds and time because I have had similar thoughts

What was so unique and new to me was the Spanish to English translations. I loved that so much.

The story is very easy to follow and I am so excited to see what comes for book two. The cliffhanger has me excited to go to the other world and see what action it brings us.

‼️Arc Review‼️

First of all, Thank you Roxanne for giving me the opportunity to read your book! Sci-fi is uncharted territory for me. But I ate this story up!

Now for the review!

Our main female character Eveley Luna is a strong willed new adult who is tasked with a hard reality after a life threatening event. Where people are not who they seem. Throughout her journey to save the world we find out about a family tragedy that has hunted the Luna’s for more than 10 years. Friends willing to risk anything for each other. Young lovers that May not know what the future holds but know enough that forever is composed of now’s!

Overall- I enjoyed this book a lot. I couldn’t put it down. When I reached the end I had soo many questions and to know I still have to wait for the next book😩 I love Eveley’s relationship with her mom. Life is hard for Eveley but nothing discourages her and she’s willing to make the big sacrifices for the greater good. She had a hero complex all throughout the book and even when she could have been the villain she still rose above her station.

I went into this kind of not knowing what to expect but super excited. The preview i read got me so pumped and it sounded so good, and boy let me tell you i was not disappointed. Eveley Is such a good female lead. She’s strong and she’s seen some stuff. The story was intriguing and made me feel like i was a part of it from the beginning. And Aliens? Gosh who doesn’t like new worlds being explored and the thought of aliens out there is a super cool one for me. It was a pretty intense and in depth story and i like that it didn’t feel cheesy like some sci-fi’s can. All in all it was a good read that flowed super well and kept my attention the whole time i was reading it. I hope there is more to come!

3.5 stars for this one.

It took me a while to get through this book. The premise was promising and I normally love sci fi.

But it was too detailed in so many ways. Too many side stories that I felt unnecessary to the main story sometimes.

It dragged on a bit too much for my taste and I had to put the book down quite often.

The end result was faster paced than the rest of the book and more my style. So I breezed through it and really liked the last 6-7 chapters.
Also that the author had decided to translate the spanish sentences right away, was great. Not sure why she changed that with the celtic names in the last chapters though. Maybe something to edit?

Thank you Roxana for allowing me to read an advanced copy of your book.

I was pleasantly impressed with the story line. Loved that I could relate to Eveley and her mom as a Latina myself loved the Spanish culture added to it.

A cute friends to lovers trope. It is my first sci-fi book but it was a very interesting read. It took my imagination to another level especially with Araven.

"Luna's Edge was an engaging read, filled with suspense and compelling writing that kept me eager for more. Eveley stood out as a strong and dynamic character, always on the move, though it seemed at times she struggled to truly relax and be herself. Aidan’s unwavering protection was admirable, and the addition of Cian stepping in to safeguard her further enriched the story. I’m looking forward to the next installment!"

Its a great book. Great story of friends that become lovers despite having this evil that they have to conquer to keep everyone safe. Many places to visit in the book and many great characters to meet. You have the strong female part and the male that wants to fight everyone that looks at his girl funny. Highly recommend.
