Summer camp is a fun experience for children and many can’t wait for those warm months to creep closer so they can prepare to go play with their friends. In Gigglet the Happy Little Piglet Goes to Summer Camp by A. M. Berkowitz we get to follow along with Gigglet and her friends Waddles and Dandy.
The story is light and fun with good rhyming words for little ones to pick up on. The story itself is very straight forward and easy to follow. With bright colours and good representation of what happens at summer camp, your little one will enjoy following along with Gigglet and her adventure.
By putting emphasis on the onomatopoeia by using a slightly different text, it’ll be easier for readers to identify and helpful to have follow up conversations with your little one about them. Each section of the story has two words that rhyme and are repeated to help your little one get used to seeing and hearing them.

Being my third Gigglet book, I knew what to expect as the format of the stories tended to be similar, but the changes were the activities and the vocabulary. Cool rhyming words that kids will find fun to say, and after a read-through, they can likely read the book themselves! Short words make these quick fun, colourful pictures engaging, and surely will help children have a wonderful dreamtime or energize their day. A happy, playful introduction to events.
