It’s just a week before Christmas and the Clauses have been working nonstop since September. Santa decides to treat his Mrs. to a quick trip below the Mason-Dixon Line, where the livin’ is easy and the weather is fine! Join them on their merry adventures to Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana, where they experience Southern grandeur at its best. In the “land of gray moss and sweet tea” they discover all the beautiful landscapes, celebrated cities, historical landmarks, tasty fare, and fine music the South has to offer.
It was the week before Christmas and Santa and Mrs Claus need a little vacation before the big night arrives. They jump on the sleigh and take a tour through the southern states of Virginia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Along the way they see some of the well known sights, taste some of the food from the region and make note of sports teams from each state. The story is told in a "Night Before Christmas" inspired format. Being originally from the south (Virginia) I loved seeing this favorite Christmas story with a southern twist, and visiting familiar places.
A quick read! Christmas poetry written in the form of "The Night Before Christmas". A cute Southern Christmas poetry! Well written, and well worth the time to read! Has the cutest illustrations! I think this is a well treasured book for your Christmas collection. I loved it! If you enjoy Southern charm, and quirkiest, than this is will be a treasure to you also.

The Night Before Christmas in the South by Barbara G.S. Hagerty is a charming retake on the classic Twas the Night Before Christmas as Santa takes Mrs. Claus on a tour of the southern states. It is a short, delightful, quick read.
