I have read a fair few self-help and business books, and this kind of falls nicely between the two.
It's realistic and addresses a massive issue with general self-improvement work that often gets forgotten - our actual physical capacity! As someone with late diagnosed ADHD, I have seen my share of burnouts. Pushing myself further and further in the pursuit of perfection and achievement, "I can sleep when I'm dead", and "that's what caffeine is for" have been my flippant responses when people have questioned if I can really take on another thing.

The introduction really resonated with me, hearing Bianca's story was very relatable, also as a divorced mum of 4 with a high pressure job (and a part time degree thrown in 'for fun'!), I have felt my plate is very close to over-full for a while, and finding balance has never been my forte.

This book breaks down the steps of finding stability and thriving amongst all of this this chaos, and working through the 8 steps addressing each issue is helping me cope and redress some of the work/life balance issues that have seemed increasingly impossible.

I was lucky enough to be gifted this as an ARC audiobook by NetGalley and the publisher Watkins Audio, but I have bought the hard copy too so I can refer back to it and work through each part at a manageable pace. The audiobook is read by the author, and Biance does a brilliant job of remaining engaging and energetic throughout. I can see why she has so many positive client reviews for her work - truly passionate and inspiring!

There is A LOT going on in this book, for best impact, it will need many re-reads and pondering time.

A must-read for my self-help lovers! Big Impact Without Burnout: 8 Energizing Strategies to Stop Struggling and Start Soaring is an audio guide to setting goals and achieving them without burning yourself out. There are eight strategies for building trust in yourself, decision-making, and outcomes while prioritizing your well-being to achieve success. The book includes instrumental real-world 'big impact reflections,' which focus on self-reflection and help you evaluate where you are when comparing yourself to your aspirations. These exercises, along with active listening, provide significant real-world value.

The narrator's calming voice was exceptional, though the pacing did slow a bit during the scientific explanations. I appreciate the use of psychological research to support the content! While the audiobook was excellent, I prefer a physical copy to reference the prompts quickly. I recommend this book to anyone looking for practical, science-based strategies for productivity without burnout. Nevertheless, I plan to reference either the audiobook or the physical book in the future.

4.5/5 stars! I recommend this book to readers who appreciate self-help and evidence-based strategies for boosting productivity without burnout. Thank you, Watkins Publishing, for lending me this book via NetGalley for review. All opinions are my own.

This book is a game-changer for anyone who has ever felt completely overwhelmed by work and life. I experienced burnout that even led to severe alopecia, and I am still on the road to reintegration as I try to find my place in the workplace. Bianca Best's practical and energizing strategies really hit home for me and provided me with the tools to stop struggling and start soaring.

Bianca breaks burnout down into manageable, actionable steps that feel both empowering and relatable. Every strategy offers a fresh perspective and a real-life roadmap to reclaiming your energy and confidence. Reading this book felt like getting a much-needed boost when I needed it most.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Watkins Audio for sending me the ACL, and thank you to Bianca Best for writing such an impactful book. I truly believe this book has the potential to change lives, and it certainly changed mine.

If you are feeling drained or lost, I highly recommend giving this a read. It is a roadmap to turning struggle into strength, and it left me feeling more energized and hopeful than ever.

I went into this book expecting something quite basic, blunt, and possibly boring, but Big Impact Without Burnout completely exceeded my expectations. Bianca has done an amazing job of outlining practical, energizing strategies to overcome burnout in a way that feels both insightful and actionable.

What truly stands out is how well-structured and engaging the content is. The book isn’t just a list of generic advice, it’s a thoughtful, empowering guide that actually makes you reflect on your habits and mindset. It’s one of those books that I know I’ll need to revisit, so I’ll definitely be getting a physical copy to have on hand whenever I need a refresher.

I feel like this book is a must-read for anyone looking to achieve success without sacrificing their well-being.

A huge thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

practical and empowering guide for anyone juggling too much.

As someone with late-diagnosed ADHD and a tendency to push myself past burnout, this book really hit home. Bianca's personal story felt incredibly relatable—especially as a busy single mum with a demanding job and way too much on my plate.

What makes this book stand out is its honest focus on our physical capacity—something most self-help books gloss over. The 8-step framework is practical, realistic, and already helping me reassess how I approach work/life balance.

I listened to the ARC audiobook via NetGalley (thanks to Watkins Audio!) and loved that Bianca narrates it herself—she's engaging, energetic, and clearly passionate. I even bought the hard copy so I can work through it more slowly.

There’s a lot to unpack here, and I’ll definitely be revisiting it. Highly recommended for anyone who feels like they're constantly on the edge of burnout.

**Listened to the audiobook**

Firstly, I really enjoyed the narrator - Bianca Best is the author, and she narrates the audiobook. I really enjoyed her writing style - it was so relaxed. The introduction really drew me in... However, the introduction felt like it was going on forever!!

I lost interest by the half way point of this book. Even though I was enjoying Best's narration and writing style, I just wasn't interested in what she was saying. It was a lot of common sense and a lot of waffle.
Not for me - didn't get much out of this!

In many ways this book doesn't tell you anything you don't already know but it's nice having all in one place together. I found the beginning way too slow and wasn't particularly interested in Bianca's personal story - I think I would have preferred it as short anecdotes more closely linked to each of the eight sections.

I had a bit of a love hate relationship with this book. On the one hand I came away with some tips, some self-reflection exercises and some good advice. But, sometimes I didn’t agree with the author entirely so it made it tricky. Glad I read it though. Thanks to NetGalley for the early copy.
