I'm currently still busy completing this book at the time of writing this review; however my frustration is exceeding my capacity to retain it. I hopped into this book with the thoughts that after this I'll actually be really good at db understanding, and I am to a decent extent, however this book is marred with sloppy code snippets + missing code sections. Its hard for me to recommend this book to anyone because of the sheer amount of internet sieving a person will have to do to get things running from this book.
I wish I had gone with Database Design and Implementation by Edward Sciore (which is much more code oriented) instead
(This review has been done after reading and understanding the contents of Db Internals and DDIA)
