The KidsClick! Web Searching Skills Guide with CD-ROM

Based on the Ramapo Catskill Library System's popular KidsClick! Worlds of Web Searching site, this unique book and CD-ROM package is designed to teach information searching and evaluation skills to children 8-15 years old. More than 90 exercises and activities are included to help kids develop the knowledge and skills they need to successfully use the Internet and other electronic resources at beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. The manual features suggestions for librarians and teachers who want to integrate these concepts into elementary curricular areas such as language arts and math, and includes an original checklist for evaluating children's searches. The CD-ROM contains the activity sheets and the checklist in MS Word PC and Mac formats so that users can adapt them to their own needs; a unique search tool form for searching the Web; and the HTML code and graphics needed to add this form to a library or school Web page.
