J.R. Waterbear’s “Killswitch” grabs you right from the start and it doesn’t let you go. This book is a rare thing: characters you care about and action that pulls you through the story at break-neck speed. While some sci-fi books are just action stories with robots or laser guns, this one isn’t that. Waterbear has created a believable and immersive world, in which the characters fight against social oppression, inner demons and each other, while each struggling towards their own ideas of freedom.
I genuinely enjoyed this rich story and found myself thinking about the story for a while afterwards, instead of moving straight on to my next read. I think you’re going to love it to!
