This is a truly wonderful book, and well worth having a copy to lend to those in need of its contents. It contains 12 accounts of marriages that survived times of difficulty due to God's grace. Each account includes how the married couple met, how the difficulties began, and how they avoided divorce when they turned to God and asked for His help. In each case, once they got through the very difficult patch, their marriages were better than ever before. The difficulties cover the many troubles that place big strains on a marriage: infidelity, gambling, pornography, alcohol, step-parenthood, same sex attraction and facing the birth of child not expected to live. If you need a dose of hope that God is bigger than any trouble you face, then this book will provide it. The day I read this book was the same day the news that the Supreme Court of the USA declared same sex marriage constitutional. A dear friend had given me a pile of great books weeks before. Going through that pile looking for something else, this book leaped out at me. It was just the reminder I needed that for a marriage to flourish it takes three persons, husband, wife and God, and that God always wants marriages to be very good.
