It’s been 10 years since Nyx Deveraux had the night of her life with a guy that was elusive as smoke. 10 years since she was rocked, utterly. Every man since then has been lacking, and Nyx has been chasing the devastation she felt since. No one compares to the one night only man that haunts her dreams.
And then she meets Rusty… Formally anyway. She already knows him in the biblical sense.
Declan “Rusty” Rust made a mistake ten years ago, one he’s paid for every day since. Nyx was too much of a sexy obsession, and his pride demanded he take what was destined to be his, first, so that she never forgot him. Now, his punishment is over, and with the opportunity presenting itself to reconnect with the woman he burns for, his plans can finally be put into action.
But Nyx is not the girl she was ten years ago, and what should be an easy seduction turns into an all out fight for their future. A fight that could mean certain destruction for life as they know it.
Bi-continental, Stella and Audra break all misconceptions about siblings. Writing as a team they have produced well over eighteen novels as well as several novella's and short stories. And nary an argument has come from it.
On their off time from writing, Audra is a makeup artist and Stella is a graphic artist and web designer, as well as the convention director for the Authors After Dark convention. They both love animals and have several including several snakes and a peacock.
Audra lives in Scotland with her husband and children, while Stella Lives in South Carolina with her dogs Moo and Poe and her husband.
This is probably my favorite book in the series. There was something about Rusty that made me love him instantly. Nyx is very likable and I adored her.
S.A. Price pulled me into the book and I didn't want to stop reading it. It was the perfect amount of everything that I needed at the time of reading it. I want more of these characters.

10 years ago, on the night of Nyx’s birthday, a stranger showed up in her bedroom and rocked her world. The next morning he was gone, leaving only a cryptic note saying “soon”, she never even got his name. He was her first and she has never forgotten him, and for the last 10 years she has been trying (without success) to find someone who could come close to giving her what she felt that night.
Now, 13 Shades are getting ready to record a new album and they have lucked out and gotten the best producer around – Rust. He’s arrogant, cocky, and just happens to be the guy Nyx has been searching for. And she’s pissed, to say the least. Where the hell has he been hiding these last 10 years? He expects to just pick up where they left off all those years ago, but Nyx has other plans.
Nyx Deveraux and Declan Rust are both Fey (and unbelievably beautiful) – only Nyx was allowed to grow up human. She doesn’t understand all of the rules of the fey, but can she believe that it’s because of some of those rules that Rust hasn’t been able to come back to her? He didn’t want to stay away…he’s wanted nothing more than to be with her every day of his life, but it’ll take some work to convince Nyx of that. Nyx has been lonely her entire life, and despite the numerous guys she’s had, she wants a little of what her friends have found – true love. One kiss from Rust is all it takes to wake her body up more than any man has been able to do in the last decade, but is it love? There is so much more Rust could do for Nyx, including answering her questions and opening her up to the world and power of the fey, if she could only trust him and be brave enough to open herself up.
We are told in the beginning of the book that this story is a lot more paranormal than the others, and I was looking forward to more of that element. I wasn’t disappointed, I loved being drawn into the beautiful world of the fey – both light and dark. And the sex? Downright epic. Just…wow. I need a Rust in my life! I fell in love with Winter in This is Forever and I thought he couldn’t be topped, but Make Damn Sure has become my favorite in the 13 Shades series so far, and one of my top reads this year! There were several more characters introduced to us and I hope to see more of them in the future…and I’m really hoping for Tosh’s story soon! (Maybe he’s next?)
Make Damn Sure is my favorite of the 13 Shades of Red Series. This is a great book. I’m not big on romance and falling in love in general. Often times there is just too much slack given to the guys in books and they just say sorry and all is forgiven. I love that Nyx really makes Rusty work for her love. And boy does he. He’s a smooth talker, but he’s only got eyes for Nyx. He is totally book boyfriend material. The kind of guy that only exists in books.
Each book in this series has a different paranormal/supernatural element. In Make Damn Sure, it’s Fae and Fae Magic. There is more Paranormal in this book than I believe there has been in previous books. I’m not usually a big fan of the Fae, but there are a few books here lately that are about Fae and I still enjoy them. This is definitely one of them.
I really love how emotional this book is. We are taken on an emotional rollercoaster as Nyx comes to terms with who she is now compared to who she was 10 years ago when she first encounters and falls for Rusty. The length to which Rusty has gone for her in the ten years since they last saw each other is crazy. He really loves her and will do anything to make up for the time they spent apart.
In Make Damn Sure, we get to meet Rick the Glimmer Toad. There aren’t words to truly describe King Rick other than he’s a huge dick. I know, I just called a TOAD a dick. But read the book and you will see why.
There are some editing issues with this book, but I truly believe this is a great book and you should overlook the mistakes. If you can’t ignore the mistakes, you are really cheating yourself out of a great read. No one’s perfect, but this series and this book come close if you can overlook the editing issues.
I recommend this book and this series to anyone who like paranormal romance, rock romance, and books about Fae or magic.
I haven’t read this series in awhile, but once I started this book I just couldn’t put it down! One thing that I love about S.A. Price does with their paranormal stories is that it’s not something that you read every day. Each story has an amazing set of characters who all have their own abilities that just blow me away while reading.
I really loved Rusty’s character in this book just because there was something about him that was so amazing, even though he had the crazy stalker thing going on. I thought that while we were getting to know him, and learn about his past and what he had been through it was done in a way that wasn’t boring or in a flashback sense. We were learning about everything while Nyx was.
And Nyx? I don’t know about her. She was completely awesome, almost too awesome to a degree. She was also very open about everything about her, which was a great change from the other books out there where the woman plays hard to get and acts like a complete ditz. She knew what she wanted and she went for it. I do think that her and Rusty were a great couple, and everything about the two of them together, even the smutty scenes where were H-A-W-T, was just off the pages amazing.
I did like how we were able to catch up with the other characters in the series in this book as well. And I really love how while they were there, they didn’t completely overtake the spotlight.
Overall, I am even more in love with the series than before and I can’t wait to read more!

I absolutely adored this book. When I received this book from the author I had recently gone through a rough time in my life and I was pretty down. As I started reading I was sucked into a world where true love does exist, men are honorable, and women kick ass. I absolutely fell in love with Rust and Nyx. Nyx is everything I want to be when I grow up yet she is still trying to find herself like we all are and that really connected with me. I enjoyed watching as their relationship finally got the chance to bloom after 10 years apart. Rust is . . . Rust is well my dream guy lol from, his rockabilly style to his tattoos, piercings and smart mouth, but mostly because he loves Nyx in a way that is mesmerizing. He loves her for exactly who she is and he wants to help her become even more fully herself. He is everything any woman should ever want. Loving, caring, possessive with out being creepy, all he wants is to love her and have her love on return. So thank you S.A. Price for writing a story that made me believe in happily ever after again and proving to me once more that even happily ever after isn't easy but when it's right it's worth it. I LOVE this book and you would be doing yourself a great disservice if you don't pick it up. So GET IT already.
This book had me from the start. I read it in one day, I couldn't put it down! This is the 3rd book in the 13 Shades of Red series from SA Price and I have to say I am thoroughly impressed. Nyx, a band member of 13 Shades of Red, has been longing for the man that rocked her world at her birthday party 10 years ago. He vanished afterward, and no man has ever measured up since. Fate finally steps in when the band heads to the studio to record. The guy that is running the studio is none other that the man of her dreams. She's shocked and a little angry, but also hopeful. There is a reason Rust had to stay away so long, but that's over now. It was hard to stay away but his Nyx was worth the wait. He plans on claiming her because they belong together. Making her love him will be a challenge he will win. The dynamic between Nyx and Rust is heartfelt. Where her band mates are cocky and sometimes arrogant, Rust is sweet, honest, laid back, and completely smitten with her. He's the man most women dream about. I have to say, almost makes me a little jealous! SA Price has a hit with this one!
This is the most recent book in SA Price 13 Shades of Red series and she has continued to produce amazing stories with rock bands, sexy men, strong women, and a twist of paranormal activity. In this book, SA Price tells the story of 13 Shades band member, Nyx Deveraux and her blast from the past, Declan Rust. After Declan is shoved back into her life, Nyx's world is turned upside down. I thoroughly enjoyed this story especially getting to learn Nyx's back story and the part of herself she doesn't allow others to see...until Declan.
If you love AMAZING and unique rock star/paranormal books then this series is for you!
I loved this beautiful love story of Nyx Deveraux and Declan Rust. S.A. Price pulled me in at the start and I was totally enthralled through every scenario. The story line is smartly written and the characters are described so well you can visualize them. It was heartwarming to see Nyx interact with her family. I also like the paranormal aspect and the hot, steamy sex adds to the excitement of the book.
I have loved the 13 Shades of Red Series and its rock and roll theme. I highly recommend Make Damn Sure and look forward to more from S. A. Price.
Holy hotness! S.A. Price has done it again. Nyx and Rust's story is hot and sweet. Nyx has been searching for him for ten years and he's been watching over her for the same. When they come together again they're combustible. Unlike the first books this one does not take place on the road, but in the studio. This does not diminish the story in any way. I enjoyed seeing how the band acted during down time. Rust has stolen my heart. You must read this wonderful story.
Whirlwind!!! I honestly can't say enough about this book!! S.A. Price gets better every time!! This book has it all.. You are taken on an emotional roller coaster. Seriously you will identify with with one or more of these characters. Granted this book has paranormal characters, however what they go through and deal with, you have at some point dealt with in your own life. Declan and Nyx are amazing.. This series S.A. Price has created is one you need to read...no excuses!!!!
**POSSIBLE SPOILERS**First of all, nowhere in the blurb or the other reviews did it mention anything about this being a paranormal story about the Fey. Rust was betrothed to Nyx from birth. He watched her since he realized it and eventually noticed how lonely she was. So, on the night of her 16th birthday he took her virginity even though he wasn't supposed to have contact with her until she turned 18. As punishment, he had to spend the nex 10 years celibate with no contact with Nyx. Meanwhile Nyx sleeps around searching for the feeling she found with her first.
To me this book was just ok. I didn't know it was paranormal, but that was fine, just unexpected. And the blurb mentioned a rock band, so I thought there was going to be more emphasis in that. Instead the emphasis was on the Fey and their powers.
I haven't read the other books, so I was a bit confused since events from the other stories were mentioned, but no details or explanations were given. I didn't like how promiscuous Nyx was, but I don't like promiscuity in any characters including how Rust slept with over 100 women in 2 years. Which brings me to another point, I hate how their numbers were put out there. I would have liked the author to leave it to our imagination.
The sex was ok, a lot of dirty talk, but nothing worth mentioning. Overall the book was ok. It needed a little more editing since some sentences didn't make sense and incorrect words were used. The devotion from Rust was awesome, though. I don't halve any interest in reading anymore in this series, but the book was ok.
Great Erotic PNR as Standalone or in Series. I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I am new to this author, but the series books prior to this volume had captured my interest so I went ahead an purchased them. I was pleased when I got to this 3rd volume that it was strong enough in the writing and story telling that it would have been a great read/listen all by itself. However, I have really enjoyed the entire series so far and look forward the the next two volumes in the series. I hope they are released to audio soon. The narrator did an excellent job with the accents and bringing the characters and story to life. The only suggestion to make this audiobook and series even better would be to add a female narrator and have a dual (back and forth) style of narration. They are getting very popular with many other listeners in my facebook Aural Fixation group, especially when they are done right.
Make Damn Sure you read this book. The author is not wrong that Declan Rust is the perfect book "boyfriend" material. Although I'm a Winter fan, this story was amazing.
Declan Rust has waited 10 years for his perfect girl, Nyx. But that wait wasn't easy. Watching Nyx strut about in the "human" world doing all types of things that every girl would love to do. Watching from afar made him realize that to catch his girl he was going to have to be every girls dream guy. What he accomplishes in his wait will amaze.
Nyx has searched for years for the perfect guy that got away. No one has ever cracked her inner shell like the guy years ago. Granted she was 16.
Romance aside, this book made me want to sit down with a good cup of tea and just snuggle with Nyx and Declan. The magic of their "fay-ness" made me swoon.
When she was sixteen, Nyx was seduced and dumped in one night by a mysterious man. She hasn't stopped looking for him, but when she finds him she cannot forget his previous treatment. Rusty was punished for his impulsive actions with banishment from his intended mate for ten years. Producing the new album for Shades, Rusty is in the perfect position to get close to Nyx and make up for his past mistake.
Audio Review: Joshua Macrae works wonders for the Shades series. He becomes the characters and doesn't overdo the voices. His female narration is, thankfully, not a high imitation of a woman's voice.
If you're looking for Nyx's story, this is the book for you!
If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would!!
13 Shades is recording a new album and when they meet the producer Nyx Deveraux will have her world turned upside down. 10 years ago Declan Rust walked into Nyx's life and then out again and she never even knew his name.
Declan has loved Nyx since he first saw her but he can never take back what he did or the punishment he has incurred for it. Finally able to see her again Declan is determined to finish what he started 10 years ago and Make Damn Sure Nyx is his forever. But has too much time past and is Nyx even willing to listen to what he has to say.
I did really like this book, and it was very sexy in some parts...Declan is a dirty boy! :) Nyx tried to play hard to get, but ya...that didn't last long, lol!!! I really like this series...but I am still standing strong on book 2 being my fave....I hope there will be more books in this series, because of course this book left me wanting more!!!! This is a great rocker romance series with a strong paranormal twist...and it is really a good one!!!!
This would have gotten a 'meh' rating (3 stars), but the all the editing errors went beyond what I could stand. The author needs at the very, very least, is just one singular person to proofread it. Having multiple mistakes on every page just detracts from any experience.
