Jeffery and Laurel’s story is complicated. Because when it comes down to it, nope he didn't force the relationship she did.

We need to start at the beginning, which is odd to begin with. Let me just say, that Laurel is twenty-one and was accepted to go to medical school at NYU Medical. A dream she has worked hard for, and her mom knew it. But, now she needs to be there in a week, and her mom is like, “Nope, we don't know anyone there, and it's too far away from home.” Even though she could leave without permission or input from her mom, it had always been just the two of them. She had to be suffering, from separation anxiety.

With her mom and her moving into her future stepdad’s, her mom’s wedding coming up, and now her leaving to head off to medical school in NYC she’s freaking out. It has to be the reason, why else would she think it would be okay? To allow her only child to move in with a grown man she never met before, talked to herself, or Facetimed? How can her mom justify allowing this to happen, even if he is her future stepfather’s son? He had lied to her, telling her Jeffery said he would allow Laurel to stay, saying all was good with her staying with Jeffery. When it was not.

Jeffery and his dad do not see eye to eye about much of anything. Her mom’s requests are absurd. For the amount of time she will not have once school starts, getting to know Jeffery, and navigating a new city. His father made it out as if he didn't have a career, but that is untrue he does. And a successful one, too by his lifestyle. They both start to realize that they are attracted to one another but try hard to fight it. Knowing that their parents won’t approve. But, when Laurel makes a guy friend on the first day, all bets are off. She starts to use that to her advantage. She plays him.

Jeffery didn’t even see it coming. It was on like Donkey Kong. These two were like fire and ice. So you never knew how their temperaments were going to be. Interesting story for sure. Well played Laurel well played.

Laurel’s mother is gonna marry Jeffery’s father but they are not married yet. This leads us to the story, Laurel is getting ready to head to her dream college but her mother will not let her attend NYU alone. Her mother believes she is to naive for the large city being that she is from a little town in Ohio. So there is a plan for Laurel to stay with her soon to be step brother, whom she has never met. Jeffery left small town Ohio as soon as he could and headed for NYC. He is a celebrate photographer and loving his life. But it seems that is all gonna change when he gets a call that his soon to be stepsister will be heading to NYC and his father wants Jeffery to pretty much babysit her.
This book was ridiculous, a mother that refuses her daughter to go to a college she was accepted at because she doesn’t want to cut the strings-eyeroll. Then you are forced to go to unknown mans apartment in NYC and stay with him. Ok that makes sense-not. Chemistry between the tow young adults is off the chain but Jeffery fights it, while Laurel wants to explore this before her mom marries his dad.

This is gonna be a really spicy taboo series from Kat for sure!

"Forced By Stepbrother" was an interesting read, definitely did not lack in the spice department at all! As are most of Kat's books, this one was a novella so super quick read! Laurel wants to pursue her degree in NYC but her mom won't let her move alone. Her stepdad tells her his son lives there and plans for Laurel to stay with him. Jeffrey (her soon to be stepbrother since their parents are getting married) is possessive and makes it known very quickly that Laurel is his.
The tension between these two were obvious very quickly! They lived out their fantasies and then some. I enjoyed it, but Laurel's dialogue at some points drove me crazy lol. I can't wait to dive into the rest of this series! If you want a really good taboo step siblings romance to read in between longer reads, definitely pick this one up! The spice was 4 chili peppers! :)

I can't believe I finished the book. Normally I do not have patience when a book is not good, especially if the plot doesn’t make sense. I have read other Kat T. Scott books and enjoyed them, so I was shocked with this book. Did someone publish a book using her name? This story was a juvenile attempt at writing steamy scenes, where sometimes I had to wonder if the author had ever had smexy times because the descriptions of smexy scenes didn’t make sense. Some of the descriptions of anatomy were bizarre. A vah-jay-jay does not have a palate. Laying on a couch suddenly became laying on the kitchen counter. There were many instances of getting characters mixed up.' He for she, etc. There were so many grammatical issues I was frustrated trying to read it. Don’t waste your time on this one. Read one of the author’s other books instead.

This is another quick and spicy book by Kat T. Scott. Laurel wants to pursue her dream of going to college in NYC. Her mom says no, she’s too young to be on her own. Her soon to be stepfather steps in. He has a son who lives and works there. He calls Jeffrey to ask and is told no. Apparently Jeffrey is a big shot celebrity photographer and likes his freedom. Laurel shows up at his door unexpectedly. He’s upset, but also taken in by her beauty. Sparks start to fly as the soon to be step siblings try to keep their lust down. It is a quick and spicy read. received an ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.

This was bad! The writing was horrible. The characters made no sense. Stuff kept changing left and right. The smut has atrocious! It wasn't steamy or sexy in any form. This needs a whole gutting, editing, and rewriting, in my opinion. The plot line is there, and it's great, but the execution failed.

Has this author ever used the English language before? Because it seems like a no with how nothong flowed together, and most sentences seemed way off. I'm not sure how the author is going to claim to be a "Talented romance author" with a background in journalism...if this is something they're willingly putting their name on...? I definitely will not be reading anything else by this author.

Okay that was interesting. Laurel and Jeffery ahs lust at first site but neither knows how to act on it because they are going to be step siblings in a few weeks. Laurel decides to make Jeffery jealous and tries to get him to just take her but in the beginning all they do is kiss and then he pushes her away until she starts posting pictures of her and Derek on social media and finally he just takes her and makes her his. It just goes to show you that lust is very powerful and makes you do things that you normally would not do.

I enjoy kat Scott normally, and I love taboo relations, especially step sibling so I thought this would be a high enjoyment read. It felt so choppy, made the people sound so dumb and sounded like what a guy would expect a girl to want to hear. It was not at all realistic. There was no connection between the characters and every single person was just bad. It was really bad. If the potential plot had not been there, would have been a 1 star

Well written, fast paced novella. Full of love, steam, spice, chemistry and family. Laurel is away at college and her mother sends her stepbrother there to help her. Laurel and Jeffrey are attracted to each other and so starts the sparks flying. Great characters. Mom may not get what she really wanted. Would recommend to others.
I am an ARC and leave this unbiased, honest review.

Laurel wants to study to be a doctor in NYC. Her mother does not want her alone in a large city. Laurel's mother's fiancé has a son living in NYC. An arrangement for her to live with Jeffery short term. Laurel and Jeffery have an instant chemistry and cannot stay away from each other.

This book was different. Not in a bad way. I very much enjoyed this read! The characters were intense and the romance was steamy and forbidden! Just goes to prove that sometimes all you need is love to conquer all. I would recommend this read.

While the ending felt abrupt, the overall plot had potential. They resisted each other for a good portion of this book which leaves you anticipating. I enjoyed the story of Laurel and Jeffrey but I wanted a little more in the end.

I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily leave this review.

Eh

I feel the idea is good but the writing is subpar. Definitely needs an editor to review it. And it was a mix of too many technical words to describe things but also too many vringy words like hoof to describe things. Pick one. Very disjointed.

A good spicy forbidden book. The characters don’t want to be forced to live together, but eventually they give into the Renton that has been building since they met.

No heat!

It was very mechanical like a robot wrote it. The wording was very proper, like AI, not sext at all!
