From humble beginnings in rural America, I grew up in the forest near a wild river destined to work on important engineering projects that would affect the lives of millions of people.
Finding the loves of my life and the critical decisions which sometimes ended those relationships and changed my future.
The stories of the many people who helped to propel me toward my goal and their contributions that would eventually bring me in a full circle and return home again to where it all began.
This is a must read for anyone visiting Kentuck Knob, an amazing Frank Lloyd Wright home in the Laurel Highlands, PA. It's a perfect post-visit read that complements the experience of touring the house and property. Readers actually get the opportunity to get an inside view from a community member connected to and impacted by the household and architecture. If you are lucky, you might actually get a lift to the home from the author, shuttle bus driver, J. Liston, who is no ordinary chauffeur, if there ever was one....
Very interesting read about a rural life and his journey. Had met him at Kentuck Knob and his love and knowledge of the property and the area added so much to the afternoon.
I love to read, always have. So far I have read over two hundred books in 2024. The Best one by far has been "Then The Room Stopped Spinning, The House on Kentucky Knob," written by Joseph Liston. The book is well written and interesting, so much so that it stays on the night stand beside my bed...for easy access. Liston is a man of vision, a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright, a designer of buildings and marvels. He has a spiritual side, the book like it's author is easy to understand and inspirational.
