Another historical novel from this excellent writer, this one set during the time of the Peasants' War (approx. 1500-1525) in southwestern Germany.

I didn’t know (or don’t remember 🤔) about the “Bauernaufstand“ in Germany in the 16th Century. This book mainly dealt with a group of farmers from the area around Stuttgart, where I grew up. I know we all feel so disgusted and sickened by what is currently going on in the US, yet the injustices, unimaginable living conditions and misery of the Middle Ages is in a whole different category. It saddens me that throughout history until the current day, the evil of a few men has made life intolerable for so many 😢
