The book, International Merger, is a quick and easy read. It outlines the scope of the problem of what is behind the so-called free trade agreements that have shipped American jobs overseas, entangled the U.S. in supra-national governmental structures, and set us on a pathway of integration with other nations rather than our protecting our cherished independence as a country.
This short 145-page book is a must read for members of the U.S. Congress (both houses), for State Legislators, for opinion molders, for history teachers, for citizens who seek to retain our countries independence and our individual freedoms vouchsafed by our Constitution.
The book outlines what and who has brought America into foreign entanglements such as so-called "Free Trade Agreements" like NAFTA, CAFTA and an attempt to bring America into the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). The author looks at the North American Union or North American Community the late Robert A. Pastor sought to merge the USA into with Canada and Mexico.
Further, International Merger is a book that will warn Americans about the Transpacific Partnership (TPP) and the entangling partnership known as the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) that is planned for America by Internationalists in our State Department. Hopefully the book will be read widely by patriotic Americans so they can reach out to their Congressmen to warn them about these terrible sovereignty-destroying entanglements that some leaders in America are betraying us into.
When I first wrote this review in February 2014 I had finished reading the book for the first time. Now I'm on my third time reading it. It is an important if short book.
Why read this book? It seems too esoteric for the average American. Yet, it is the fountainhead of many of the problems we face as a nation. For that reason, I give it the 5 stars and urge you to read it.
The thesis of this 160-page book is that the United States is being delivered over slowly by global elites and U.S. politicians to a world government by so-called Free trade Agreements – Partnerships. These agreements are really mergers and constitute a union and an entangling foreign alliance between the governments that are party to it. It is not about Free trade, which is between businesses, not governments and doesn’t require telephone book size regulations and rules. These are governmental partnerships -unions.
The salient historical example is the European Union, which began as a Coal and Steel Community, which formed just 13 years after the fall of Nazism by the same socialists that provided the major belligerents in the 2nd World war – The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics vs the German National Socialists. What Hitler could not accomplish by war (a United Europe under German dominance) was accomplished by deceit and stealth by a slow, gradual process – from Common Market to European Community (1973) to The European Union (1993). The end goal is to bring the USA into this “kicking and screaming if necessary” (Frank Piplat – former PR man for EU). This is the TTIP (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership). This is covered in chapter 4.
Who gets to regulate trade with foreign governments according to our supreme law of the land – The U.S. Constitution? Answer: Congress – this means both houses. “The Congress shall have Power…To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations… “ (Article I, Section 8). This is the fourth power given to congress after the power to tax, pay for defense, and borrow.
So, what gives with the World Trade Organization? The WTO claims the same power and has a court to back it up. The decisions made there are final unless rejected unanimously by all 159 WTO member nations. If an American business violates WTO rules and is taken before this court and a decision is made, that business has no recourse – no appeal process – no Supreme Court. So, which is it? U.S. Congress or the WTO? Newt Gingrich (R-GA) helped bring US membership into the WTO a reality and he knew what he was doing. He warned, “I am just saying that we need to be honest about the fact that we are transferring from the United States, at the practical level, significant authority to a new organization. This is a transformational moment.” He also gave us NAFTA which entangles us even more, with more rules.
What we have happening before our very eyes is the slow transformation of a once free and independent United States into a global combine that ties the hands of the very Congressmen that voted for it and takes away our Independence and sovereignty and transfers our wealth to other countries.
That is what this book is about. So, if you ever wondered about all the acronyms like TTP, TTIP, SPP,TPN,APEC,FTAAP,NAFTA,ASEAN,CEFTA,CISFTA,COMESA,EFTA,GAFTA,SAFTA,AANZFTA,PAFTAand SADCFTA – this book boils it down from an American perspective.
This book was written in 2015, so it does not include anything with the present Trump administration. There is an addendum that was added to bring it up to date with new developments. It is still well worth it and can be used as an introduction into a deeper study.
There are eleven chapters to this book with an introduction, addendum, colorful pictures in the middle, and an Index. The first three chapters give us an introduction and provide the background for the rest of the book.
This is followed by an historical example: The EU and a warning about the same thing happening in the USA. Chapters 6- 9 flesh out how this is accomplished using deception and an end game. Chapter 10 is very important because it exposes the misinterpretation based on the misleading statements of John Foster Dulles that treaties somehow supersede the Constitution. This idea is buried and laid to rest in this chapter. The final chapter reminds the reader of the truism that nothing in politics happens unless it is planned that way. Hopefully this will encourage the reader to connect the dots and find out who, besides Gingrich, want this.
1.Under the Banner of Commerce Our Nation Is Forming Permanent Alliances Anyone familiar with the founding fathers know that this was warned about by three prominent Presidents and many more, Washington, Jefferson, and Quincy Adams. Yet, this is happening under a different name.
2. Partnership Anyone in business that was a sole proprietor and then formed a partnership, knows that some control over the business is lost to the new partner. What happens when a free country, based on the rule of law, free enterprise, and Judeo-Christian principles, partners with a socialist country or group of countries based on corrupt, totalitarian/ authoritarian government control?
3. Fair Trade What exactly is fair trade? In this chapter Thompson relies on Dr Lewis E. Lloyd’s 1955 work, entitled, “Tariffs, the Case for Protectionism”. Here Lloyd lists 8 conditions that must be met for world trade to be fair.
a. Taxes must be comparable b. A single monetary system must be in use c. There must be uniform business laws d. Similar business ethics must prevail e. There must be uniform wage rates f. Maximum labor mobility must exist across borders g. There must be freedom from the threat of war h. All the above have to be enforced by a world government
4. The European Union 5. An American EU
6. A Grand Deception Who is behind all this desire to deliver American Sovereignty to a world body?
7. Homeland Security Imagine protecting your homeland by using your potential and real enemies to do it. Imagine giving foreign nations powers over secret military operations that the average American is not allowed to see. Now imagine these two foreign powers to be Russia and China. Now insert the names George Bush and Bill Clinton, and Barak Obama as those who oversaw it. Yes, that is what has been happening; starting with George HW Bush. (“A Charter for American-Russian Partnership and Friendship”1992). Remember this is long before Trump and this book was written before Trump.
8. Agenda 21 And you thought that your local County commission and school board came up with all the ideas?
9. The New World Order The US Bill of Rights vs the UN Declaration of Rights – very different in crucial ways. It is the difference between freedom and tyranny.
10. Treaties Supersede the Constitution? Article II, Section 2 “the President shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur.” is being misused. Foster Dulles is wrong. Jefferson, Hamilton, and American jurists are right. (New Orleans v United States)
11. Nothing Happens in Politics Unless it is Planned That Way
All of what I read in here, I heard before on the Alex Jones Show. The information in this book is highly controversal. It talked about the New World Order, combining the US with Canada and Mexico to form one government same as uniting the Pacific Rim with the US or combining the European nations with the US, Agenda 21 where the UN swoops in and takes property, treaties superceding the US Constitution.
