I was very surprised by this book. I really did not expect much because free reads are usually riddled with grammatical, spelling and syntax errors. Not so with this book. Very few errors. I will say that doomed is not spelled domed. Sometimes the characters got a bit chatty and I was not sure who was speaking because the paragraph seemed to go on but otherwise really good.
It read like a piece of juicy gossip. It had everything; sex, drugs, violence, lies, cheating husbands and wives, twisted relationships with twisted families. The story seemed as if it could have been a real life event that the author put down on paper.
When Lela unexpectedly killed her cheating husband after being disrespected for the last time, she sets off a chain reaction that rocks a community. The intricacies of a decades long friendship riddled with betrayal is at the heart of this book and it just seemed to continue into the next generations.
Read it, I doubt you will be disappointed.
