Breaking Chains is a book of healing and restoration for those families that are affected by the chains of addiction. The Kindle Version is un edited. Breaking Chains was written by a former meth addict and his path that broke the chains of addiction and restored his family. If a person is in recovery or still in their addiction, this book is insightful and will have a major impact on your life.
It's a great book to give addicts and their loved ones hope that there is a life without drugs. As inspirational as it is, it is also very honest about how it will happen only when the user is willing to work for it - work hard and never take if for granted. Never stop working on sobriety! It also has honest and good advice for the loved ones that are enabling the users. A great read!
This is the author's first book and he is a recovering addict himself. He tells his story of how with God's help he turned his life around. He explains how he continues to work towards maintaining his sobriety regardless of how long he has been sober. He is now a counselor teaching recovery. Truly inspirational!
I admit it I'm a skeptic. As the loved one of an addict I thought this would be another 12-step jargon book... I've never been so happy to be wrong, Paul speaks to the mind set of an addict and gives a message of hope to them and their loved ones. If you have a loved one suffering from addiction, or in recovery I encourage you to read this book. It is a start and every journey must have a beginning. Thanks Paul!
Although this book was filled with errors in word usage and grammar, I found that I needed to concentrate instead on the author's intent. If you want to take a glimpse into the mind of an addict, or if you just want to know how the daily life of an addict works, then this book will tell you with brutal honesty. I appreciated the opportunity to understand, in an intimate way, the tragedy that is addiction! Thank you, Paul, and may God bless you.
This book helped me as a mother of an addict the depth of pain and bondage they endure. It also filled me with hope that recovery is possible if taken seriously. To get clean one must be all in and completely submitted to sobriety.
