Nothing about my love life is typical.

My name is Andros- once Father Andros, devout priest and man of the cloth. It was a hard life, but my faith kept me strong.

For a time.

Today, my life is very different. No longer in the priesthood, my work is of a very different kind, even though I still see myself as a man who serves his flock.

This is a story of one of my projects- a troubled young woman who needed some very special attention. Like all people, she is a sinner. Even though I am no longer a priest, I still give what sinners need the most.

Absolution.

FROM THE BOOK:
"Ana, a core part of the problem that you have discussed with me is that you have an incorrect idea about who you are. You have invented an idea about your body, your beauty, and your sexuality, and you life your life as if this idea is true."
I paused, looked at her fidgeting fingers. She stopped fidgeting and smiled.
"The problem is, the idea is patently false." I gave her a stern look. "This is what we need to attend to. Today, we are going to discuss your body image, and find what we can do about it."
She smiled, seeming to become more comfortable. "I think I can do that."
"Good. Please come here." I was pulling a mirror away from the wall. It was a stand-up tri fold mirror that I often used in play.
I could see she was suddenly uncomfortable.
"Ana, I'm going to ask you to disrobe." My voice was as businesslike as possible.
"I-" She was looking at the mirror- not at me. Fascinating. She was actually more concerned about being naked in front of the mirror than she was being naked in front of me. "I don't think-"
Times like this require discipline and resolve. That is part of what I am for. I provide strength when the woman cannot find it.
"Ana." A gave her a tight smile. "You are going to be naked for me, in front of this mirror. You have only three choices here." I held out a finger. "You can take off your clothing for me." I extended a second finger. "I can do it for you." I gave her a hard look with the third finger. "Or you can leave. I can't help you if you won't do as I say."
She was trembling.
"I-" She looked at me, her eyes wet. "I can't do it. I can't be the one. I'm too fa-"
"Shut up." My voice was soft. "I'm tired of hearing how fat you are, Ana, It's simply not true." As she looked at the floor, I continued. My voice was deep, rumbling. "Do you need me to undress you, Ana?"
There was a long, heavy pause. Then-
"Yes." Her voice was like a distant cry in the night.
I smiled grimly. "Tell me. Tell me what you need me to do."
"I need you to undress me, Andros."
